He sends his love and big, sloppy, wet kiss. Sang your praises (smart, wise) and said it was your burdens that kept you from seeing it. Just passing the message, don't shoot me. Maybe we can talk about it at the next BBQ. Whose turn to host anyway?

As for the rest, I was blowing off steam. I'm truly sick of these freeloaders stealing from this country and laughing at Americans for being so damn gullible.
And, No, sister, I don't think about killing everything that irritates me. All my children are still alive. Except one, but that's a story for another day. I think that idea for anchor babies is a VERY workable, intelligent compromise, Blackheart :) And you already know how I feel about illegal aliens--it was that issue which first drew me to this thread when DS told me about on the thread where he and I met. You summed it up in your statement above. Great post :)

okb2 wrote: <quoted text> Not really. Can you name a time they were not here? Heck, they were here before we were. In Florida in the 60's it was an accepted part of life. No one thought in the wildest days that they were really illegal or about sending them home. 1) Yes, I can name a time when illegals were not here: before laws were established defining who may and may not live or work within our borders. Before that, NOBODY was illegal, but those laws were established because we DO have the right to know who is in our own country, for heaven's sake. 2) Maybe if illegals hadn't been "an accepted part of life in Florida in the '60s" the problem wouldn't be as intractable as it is today. If a line had been drawn in the sand then, it could have served as a pattern for handling the issue later on. But since Florida apparently chose to turn a blind eye then, we'll never know, will we? In any case, it's ridiculous to reason that because Florida didn't deal with the problem THEN, that it's okay for the entire nation not to deal with it NOW. The problems illegals bring far outweigh any economic benefits they provide. Any immigrants who come here legally should be welcomed, but illegal immigration must end, period.

In light of this last weeks cancer dnc add its clear to me very few on the left care about anything but winning at all cost. Its not so funny now. History shows this is politics as usual for him. Hillary Clinton caught on quickly to that in 2004 when she said, "Shame on you, Barack Obama. It is time you ran a campaign consistent with your messages in public." "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" comes to mind. He campaigns with a charming smile and a baseball bat and that kind of loanshark salesmanship generally yields short term results. What I know is this. The Mardi Gras party mood he created which swept the country is gone. The honeymoon is over. I'm not suggesting his one time party hat wearing revelers are going to vote for his opponent. I am suggesting many of them simply might not vote at all and if that happens, the results will be devastating for him. We'll see.
