I could be wrong, but I think you missed a large dose of sarcasm in Bob's nuke Pakistan statement. Nobody in their right mind, NOT EVEN MEN, would advocate killing millions of innocent people.
You're probably right - and just after I'd called LIT(?) out on a similar failure to recognize sarcasm, too. Mea Culpa. As per friggin' usual.

I'm beginning to feel retarded on a regular basis, lately. The new girl at work beat me like a redheaded stepchild, blew my doors off, and left me in the dust last night, and then the supervisor rubbed my nose in it. Probably not the best time to be attempting adult conversation. I'll take it under advisement - but you know how that usually turns out......

My apologies to bad bob and LIT, or whoever it was, for jumping down their respective necks. Damn. I hate crow for breakfast.

Bobin is a tad less vocal about it than are 'certain other people'. But I'll take that under advisement too.

I'm calm. What is it you don't understand? My point is that anyone even if they have not (yet) been personally touched by whats going on shouldn't be shocked if they are. I am taking the Pres's words back to him. Teachers are a huge voting block for him. The Wi. teacher I heard on the news about a year ago seemed to think it strange that he may feel some of this pain. And he wasn't even talking about no longer having a job, just having to do more on his end with retirement benefits.
And mine is that if one whines about 'attacks' against a certain group, while 'attacking' another group oneself, one might want to examine one's underlying issues. And then again, one might not. Entirely one's call.

I think the same thing of people who blame the U.S. government for 9/11.
I don't think that compares to what Biden and Obama have said about the Tea Party, any more than it compares to the references to Nazis and Stalinists hurled at Obama.

My issue is the double standard. But I expect nothing less. Heck while I moan about going green here I do quite a bit to save energy, I just think that taxmoney shouldn't be used.

"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

Chris, in an on-line discussion not addressing points made by another poster while deflecting or essentially giving a non-response is in effect "running away." Calling me arrogant and then not responding to the two specific points I made was running away.

Secondly, my arrogance was in stating what your response would be. You proved I was correct with your response.

Finally, your disrespect (you disrespecting others) is in not only refusing to debate legitimate points, you refuse many times to even defend what you bring to the discussion.

You'd Think that with all these gebiuses working onb it, they'd have made more progress than they have.
But, more than likely, the folks involved are in it more for the money than to actually Solve the problem. How else to explain how a company could get five hundred million dollars, and close their doors a day later?
We did a science experiment back in the sixth grade, where we hooked up a sixty watt light bulb to a pair of steel rods sitting in salt water. When you blew air into the water with straws, the bulb flickered to life. I forget the underlying principals to it, but if a sixth grader can generate electricity with water and steel rods, the a larger scale shouldn't be that difficult to build.
OK, I plead guilty to being the densest dullard.

A science experiment vs. large scale production is a long way to go. We put money in it under Carter. Stopped under Reagan/Bush. Again under Clinton. Stopped under bush until 2005.

Had we consistently funded things we would be much further ahead.

What a load of crap. I will be happy to share my pov and back in up. I long lost count how many times I've done that only to mocked ect by your side. Case in point my wife once living an alt lifestyle. I will say this, time is of a huge value to me and if I view it wasted why should I? Got better things to do.

Since we are discussing the Constitution, what does it say about budgets as to who is responsible for being first to write them?

Obama submitted 3 budgets all of which were voted down. So who's budget are we operating with?

That backs me up more than it does your argument.

Unless you want to argue that it says enemy combatents (Al Qaeda members) are not to be killed there is nothing in that docuement that supports your side of the argument.

So is that what you want to argue, that enemy combatents can not be killed?

The key phrase is "The Republican House passed a budget". obama and the Democratic Senate majority have been in office for over three years together, and they haven't accomplised that feat yet. Without a federal budget, we have no hope to control the excessive spending. "Continuing Resolutions" do not cut spending, they only reauthorize it. Continuing Resolutions occasionally reduce the amount of proposed spending increases in some areas... however, those reductions are usually less than the increases seen from "baseline budgeting" increases.
President Romney and his Republican House and Senate will accomplish that most basic task, passing a budget, to getting our spending and programs under control.
Having explained the error of your logic to you, I look foward to your support of President Romney and the Republican candidates to replace our current "know nothing" pResident and his "do nothing" Senate.
Interesting. Consttitutionally is the US able to operate without a budget? Isn't a budget the bill that actually authorizes the spending? Doesn't the House have to pass Bills that authorize spending?

Why doesn't the House just stick to their budget when they are passing bills that authorize spending?

Why did the House authorize more to be spent than Obama requested?

If "continuing resololutions" only reauthorize the prior budget, why has the amount spent changed each year?

In 2000 the Republican Congress and Republican President were going to give us a tax cut, set aside all the money for SS and at the same time keep a balanced budget while holding some in reserve for an emergency. Why should we believe them now?

Has the House held the line on spending?

How many years does it take the Republican budget plan to balance the budget using great economic projections?

You ditto'd Bobin on not subsidizing any industry. That statement includes "green" as well as many others. But the language you use in this post indicates that you are specifically against taxpayer money for going "green."

So which is it and why the language?

Chris, you raised the budget issue with Obama. I responded with two specific points concerning the Republicans and budget issues. If the budget is a waste of time with you, why bring it up.

Since I have been on this thread I have not seen one person mock your wife for having an alternative lifestyle before she met you. I have seen one person (I think) question the way you seem to be able to work that into most conversations though.
