But, more than likely, the folks involved are in it more for the money than to actually Solve the problem. How else to explain how a company could get five hundred million dollars, and close their doors a day later?
We did a science experiment back in the sixth grade, where we hooked up a sixty watt light bulb to a pair of steel rods sitting in salt water. When you blew air into the water with straws, the bulb flickered to life. I forget the underlying principals to it, but if a sixth grader can generate electricity with water and steel rods, the a larger scale shouldn't be that difficult to build.
