George Miller Jr wrote: <quoted text>All the parts of the song? For those of you who remember vinyl, it starts on side one and completely takes over side two. A lot of the stations are now piped in via satallite with no local DJ to speak of. The oldies station in our area does this and we've found that a bunch of the songs are sped up and or cut. Sad.....

Arizona Mike wrote: Karn Evil 9 - Emerson Lake and Palmer Yeah , yeah , I'm a geezer - but music was pretty damn good back then . Suffering from a lack of new progressive rock? Really like something new you can show-off to your friends? Try Porcupine Tree. Try their off-shoot: Blackfield Sure they are new and you might hold your nose the first time through but do you remember the first time you heard "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway?" BTW: Halo (from Porcupine Tree's "DEADWING" should have been the rock song of the year in 2006.)

I have to switch the channel when I hear it. Even now, while typing this comment about the song, a feeling of sadness is coming over me. Excuse me, I gotta go do something to cheer myself up, before the rest of my day is ruined.

Knocking on Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan Mama, take this badge off of me I can't use it anymore. It's gettin' dark, too dark for me to see I feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Mama, put my guns in the ground I can't shoot them anymore. That long black cloud is comin' down I feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door Actually the haunting way he sings it is the best part of it. I know there is a version by Gun's n Roses that is fantastic, but this is Dylan, man.

My dad was a big Simon & Garfunkel fan while I was growing up, so when he corrected papers, he would throw some S & G on. Turned me off to that song for decades. Anyways, is a good song. A version was song with just piano accompiament when they held a memorial service for him. Not a dry eye in the house.

I don't know...I think that there is no f'in way that the greatest song in the history of songs would be a new realease-lol-it'd be pretty old haha if I was gonna go with music-i'd say the best would be Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, but if I were to go with music with lyrics- I'd damn well say Depeche Mode-One Carress that has been my favorite song since I was 2, my mother used to play it to me to fall asleep, and I have always loved it so so much....that is a Great song...with a capital G Kasey wrote: I think the best song in the world iz "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance.

I've been listening to a lot of production music on something called "Guild Music." Lot of music that was put to use in old newsreels and such. There are far more worse vices than enjoying orchestral musci.:)
Hey, we got TONS of snow here in Minneapolis. No vehicle traffic at all on the normally busy street past my house. Good!
