Turkey says it 'will not tolerate' a Kurdish-run region in northern Syria

Turkey will not tolerate the creation of a Kurdish-run region in Syria, its prime minister said Thursday following reports that Kurdish rebels and a Syrian Kurdish political party had taken control of five cities along the Syrian-Turkish border. Full Story

Turkish hatred and fear of the Kurds is legendary, but of course they're a country loaded with ethnic hatreds. You could ask the Armenians, if you could FIND any in Turkey who weren't killed in the genocide.

Turkey should be booted out of NATO for their persecution of Kurds. The US needs to exert pressure on Iraq and Turkey to guarantee a homeland with secure borders for the Kurds. They were our allies in Bush's war against Iraq. We have a debt to repay.
