Thought it was a great commercial. Ford should have bought their own commercial instead of whining.

The owner of Obama-motor GM Barack Hussein Obama who financed the GM unions with tens of billions of hard-earned dollars of the American people which were never paid back is stabbing the American great icon Ford in the back. Clearly, Ford refused to take billions of dollars of the American people for covering the outrageous benefits of the UAW unions for free pensions and healthcare for lifetime.

Are you suggesting that Ford doesn't provide their retirees with pensions and health insurance? You're sadly mistaken. They do. One thing Ford has going for it, they moved a lot more of their manufacturing to Canada before GM and Chrysler, meaning they benefit from socialized health care more so than GM and Chrysler.
Saving GM and Chrysler saved millions of jobs and the loans are being paid back ahead of schedule. GM is back on top as the leading manufacturer in the world.
GM's alive and Bin Laden is dead. Sounds good to most of us Americans.

sofa,
Socialized medicine? Might want to check that. Unions guys get paid for their medical.

Ford whined about false claims made by GM. Claims that strike at the heart of why Ford sells more trucks.

You might want to read that again. Ford moved much of their manufacturing to Canada decades ago. Taking advantage of Canada's socialized health care. One less cost they must pay for many of their employees than GM or Chrysler.
Are you suggesting that Ford pays for the medical care for their many Canadian employees?
Also, Ford whined about a claim that is true depending on the source used. "R.L. Polk data shows Silverados remain on the road longer than other pickups." Ford suggests that's wrong due to the fact that they have more trucks with over 250,000 miles. That only means they sold more, not that their trucks last longer. That's why there is fine print on commercials like that. According to that source, GM isn't making a false claim.

sofa,
You can can make of this what you can, it is a Ford company benefit and looks like it covers everything that the Canadian plan doesn't. It includes children and retirees. Thought it is cheaper than UAW's was.

The fine print in the GM ad doesn't ring true according to Consumer Reports.

Which plan do you think is cheaper? A full health care plan, or a supplemental plan in Canada?
A plan that covers hospital costs of possibly thousands per day or a plan that covers the $30 per day charge Canada allows?

In 2009, the government funded about 70% of Canadians' health care costs. This covered most hospital and physician cost while the dental and pharmaceutical costs were primarily paid for by individuals. But considering Canada negotiates the price of drugs, the price is significantly lower than it is here. That's why Americans liked to get their drugs in Canada while it was allowed.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/2009/11/1...

If the government is paying about 70%, then Ford only has to pick up 30%. Again, they benefit from the socialized health care of Canada. The cost is significantly lower when you only have to cover the supplemental costs.

I don't know what UAW members get per year for insurance but 2009 CAW members were about $13,500 a year.

$13,500 a year? Where does your link state that number? It doesn't.
Again, supplemental insurance is far cheaper than entire care insurance.

So, it's okay for you to hijack the thread and talk about socialized medicine in Canada because they make Ford trucks and Ford is in the title, but I cant talk about the Super bowl for exactly the same reason?

Who put you in charge?

How about you stay on topic?
