Lance Armstrong refiles USADA suit; team members decline arbitration, receive lifetime bans

Lance Armstrong filed a revised lawsuit against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency before the close of business Tuesday, once again asking a federal judge in Austin to stop the agency from stripping his seven Tour de France titles and banning him from sport for life if he fails to agree by Saturday to submit to arbitration over alleged doping violations. Give em hell Lance! Go after em like you're attacking the Col du Tourmalet! We're backing you all the way. USADA ought to be ashamed for attempting to bring down a real American hero.

Lance is a great man, nearly died from cancer and has raised millions for the benefit of others. So sad a reflection on human nature that a good guy is pursued like this, he also took 500 drug tests in his career, innocent I believe. I love Lance and he will always be an inspiration to me.

are all you armstrong supporters insane or unable to understand basic logic !! He has cheated and everybody in cycling knows it, the only reason everyone does not just say it is either because he will bully, legally harass and probably try to sue them or they themselves cheated as well. I have know problem with saying he was an inspiration and a legend in his own right it is just that to succeed when he competed you cheated, it was just the done thing!! please people stop believing his hype and self grandiosing publicity and read the facts! There is no witch hunt, and if anyone is bitter its lance because he does not think it is fair to taint him when others are not. And please do not say it is the french or his biter school friend ect ect ect. No one is resentfull of his success it is just time he owned up and admitted it like the others who competed during and before his reign as champ. All lance can say is that he never got caught because he payed and used the best advice and techniques available. I will always respect him as a cyclist and for what he has done for cancer suffers, but that does not exempt him from how he cheated.

He has been tested 5 times during the seven years he won the Tour. All negative, enough is enough. Why don't you look into the tests and share with us the proof that he is guilty. He was winning races since he was 12 years old. Why don't you Europeans just admit he was better than you and let it go?

Why isn't anyone speaking out to say they were with Lance when he was competing, and they never saw him cheat?

Some teammate, employee, someone who hasn't been accused themself.

There would be at least ONE person sticking up for him if he was clean.

"This isn't about usantidoping wanting to clean up cycling - rather it's just plain ol' selective prosecution that reeks of vendetta."

Before the start of the fifth stage of the Tour de France Hincapie was confronted by the media but neither confirmed or denied he had given evidence against Armstrong.

"I haven't (spoken to Armstrong) in a while - I feel bad he's going through all this, Lance has done so many things for the sport,'' Hincapie said.

"His accomplishments are incredible, what he's achieved in the sport of cycling, the attention he's brought to the sport of cycling.

"What he's done for the cancer society is honourable ''

Hincapie was a teammate of Lances all seven times he has won. Lance also won a triathalon in Hawaii where he was also tested-----negative.

Armstrong has always insisted that he rode clean. He says Landis lacks credibility. After quitting Armstrong’s team, Landis won the 2006 Tour but was stripped of the title for doping. Having denied it for years, Landis now acknowledges that he cheated but says others did, too.

Landis is a whiney cry baby who need to cheat, got caught and tried to drag others down with him. Steffen Kjaergaard rode at Armstrong’s side for his second and third wins, in 2000 and 2001. He remembers the victory parties and the one-starred Texas flag that Paris’ famous Crillon Hotel flew in Armstrong’s honor. But he says he is stumped by Landis’ allegations because coming “from a team that I was a member of, that is so far from what I have been a part of, or seen, or discovered myself".

Colombian Victor Hugo Pena, another ex-Postal cyclist who rode the Tours of 2001-03 with Armstrong:“Some people want me to destroy Armstrong and try to affirm that everybody was doping.

“This did not happen during my time with the group. I have good memories of the team and of Armstrong; for him only grateful words. We had a good relationship.”

Get over it, you and the French just need to admit he was better than everyone. He was winning cycle races from the time he was 12. Some former teammates have been threatend of not being able to compete in the TDF if they don't tell of doping.

"Sam Sparks, of United States District Court, criticised Armstrong's lawyers for submitting a lengthy complaint filled with allegations that "were totally irrelevant to Armstrong’s claims".
Sparks went further and concluded the court was left to presume that the allegations "were included solely to increase media coverage of this case, and to incite public opinion against" the anti-doping agency and Travis Tygart, the agency's chief executive, who is also named as a defendant.
"This court is not inclined to indulge Armstrong's desire for publicity, self-aggrandizement or vilification of Defendants, by sifting through 80 mostly unnecessary pages in search of the few kernels of factual material relevant to his claims," Sparks said:"
So please everyone stop buying into what you read about Lance being a scapegoat and being picked on, it is obviously the other way around when it comes to the truth about how this is played out in the media.

Now the drug obsessionists take it out on a teenage Chinese swimmer. Please, innocent until proven guilty. Why should anyone have to prove they are innocent just because "someone" says they might be guilty?

Is this a democracy or are we reverting to the premise that every citizen is guilty until proven innocent. The USADA is setting a precedent with Lance. If this is true, any one of us could be in this position and be stripped of our dignity and self respect--our reputations sullied in the press--and folks what about this man's innocent children in all this hype.
In one of the articles the picture used was his tour de france win with his children with him on the podium, with an article implying that he not only is a cheater, but he is flaunting it in front of his children. No, no, no. Lance is an intelligent, successful athlete and businessman and the most important fact is he is a cancer survivor. Would he put his precious, hard won fight in jeopardy by putting illegal substances in his body.
