no im just not stupid enough to believe... that even with your precious democracy... the Philippines is well ahead of the Chinese when it comes to corruption...

in fact the biggest difference is... the average Chinese has no say in who leads them...

while you Filipinos and Americans take pride in the fact you get to vote in your crooks...

and bottom line... their leadership is continuing to bringing millions out of poverty

that you cannot say for the Philippines or the USA these days...

Millions of Asians escape poverty despite crisis

More than 245 million Asians were lifted out of extreme poverty in the last five years despite the global economic crisis, the Asian Development Bank said, citing the region's brisk economic growth.

China, the world's most populous nation, outperformed other Asian countries, with an estimated 141.13 million people leaving the ranks of the extreme poor, defined as those who earned less than $1.25 a day.

"The results indicate that even during the global economic crisis, Asia managed to further reduce the number of poor," said the report, which was released on Tuesday by the Manila-based lender.

"The continued poverty reduction during the crisis and recovery periods can be attributed to robust economic growth in the region."
Some 149.9 million Asians escaped extreme poverty between 2005 and 2008, and a further 95.4 million from 2008 through 2010, the bank said.

But some low-income countries such as Indonesia, Pakistan and Nepal fared badly, with the number of poor people growing last year compared with 2005.

Others like the Philippines made no dent on poverty during this period.

"This may be attributed to population growth outstripping poverty reduction due to sluggish gross domestic product growth and/or worsening inequality," the study said.

As of last year, the extreme poor constituted 18.7 percent of the population of developing Asian countries, down from from 27.09 percent in 2005, the bank said.

Despite the dramatic progress, ADB said the region was still home to the largest number of the world's poor.

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS BIG TALKING. THE PHILIPPINES KNEW THEY HAVE NOTHING TO FIGHT WITH AGAINST CHINESE AGGRESSION EXCEPT DIPLOMACY.

HOWEVER, CHINA IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE PHILIPPINES WEAKNESS AND IT IS PRECISELY THE REASON WHY CHINA IS BULLYING THE PHILIPPINES.

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT STORY HAD THE PHILIPPINES BEEN LIKE TAIWAN.

Island of Palmas Case, where the sovereignty of the island was adjudged in favor of the Netherlands because of effective jurisdiction and control "despite the historic claim of Spain"
let the international maritime law handle this, but chinese government has rejected this, insisting on bilateral discussions. I guess? because they will never win the case..hehehe
please that would be like your government entertaining a claim by the Negritos/Aeta on the country Philippines, in International Court

Chinese dont have to do sheit.. they found the archepelago, claimed it fished it and most important CONTROL IT

how many times does it have to be said before your LOW IQ brain can retain this information...

cant have it both ways if you are going to use UNCLOS and "Proximity" as your argument...for Scarborough Shoal

then you have to use the same UNCLOS and "Proximity" as your argument when it comes to Sabah...

where Malaysian land borders Sabah...and ocean separates the Philippines from it...

like I said before, Malaysia controls Sabah... so to me its Malaysian

China controls Scarborough Shoal... so to me its Chinese

Philippines controls the Philippines so to me its Filipino

once you start getting to who was here first who owns what...

well then Negritos/Aeta want their land back...

yes lets talk about Taiwan big talker...

here is my View... China is the "true" owner of Taiwan... especially if you look at it under UNCLOS and its proximity to mainland China..

but the people who now call themselves Taiwanese took the Island and now control it...(with help from the USA)

my view is they are the current owners of the land.. no doubt your view as well...as you would support anything the USA does...

the only difference is your hypocrite a$$$ changes his view when it comes to when the "roles are reversed", and the Chinese control of Tibet or the Scarborough Shoal

where do you get the Idea China claims the "WHOLE of SOUTH CHINA SEA"

as for the question of OIL???

China claimed the area in the 12 century

while Philippines officially made a claim in 1978 two years after they discovered oil...in 1976

@61 Percent: Got the info from the News. All Islands in South China Sea are being claimed by the chinese government as reported here in the Philippines before. There was even an explanation before by one Chinese Diplomat that that is why is was called SOUTH CHINA SEA is that because that entire area is Chinese Territory.

On a business prospective, I believe China is strengthening its hold on these islands because of the oil. Military and navigation basis, I believe soon enough, when China becomes a super power, higher than the US, these passage way (South China Sea) will prove to be very vital to them. What do you think?

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Scorpio

You're in a very romantic and sentimental state today. You're also feeling quite sensitive and vulnerable, so you won't want to be around anyone you find abrasive or aggressive. If you meet someone for the first time now you'll think they're wonderful and your relationship will always involve putting them on a pedestal. But don't be too idealistic. They are human, remember!
