There will always be the elite. The more we successfully eliminate them, the more elite we become. Though I would argue that the democracy or "rights for all individuals" is more conducive to a republican form of government than any other. I agree that the most educated and capable should be in charge, but unfortunately people don't necessarily vote in the most capable representatives. I think this is one of the two biggest flaws in our form of government. People tend to vote in those who will give handouts at the expense of the greater good. The second, in my opinion, is that political parties tend to make a republic less efficient. This is exemplified in our current budget that spends its way simultaneously in opposite directions. Overall, I think a republic is the best, but some permanent checks and balances should be put in place to prevent overspending and perhaps something similar to bicameralism that is permanently put in place to keep both parties permanently in place. Though I do trust Madison more than myself.

Assange or whatever his name needs to be tried for espionage. He knowingly accepted secret information from a soldier whom he knew was not authorized to give such information. He should be made responsible for the people that will die because of this. And the worse part--he most likely did it for ratings and profit.

U.S. law only applies to U.S. jurisdiction. He broke no U.S. laws within U.S. jurisdiction. To break U.S. law, you have to be within U.S. jurisdiction. Otherwise, he's just some dude who receive some documents. The person that DID break U.S. law under U.S. jurisdiction can be tried for treason and/or espionage. I believe that's the person that submitted the documents.

Terrorism cant be defeated if people are to afraid to defeat it. Take a look at Russia, they are living in a true example of terrorists running amuck around the country & no one can do a thing because there are 20 million Muslims in the country(who are good? who are bad?? who are there illegally & who are not??).
Why is this happening? Because the world is excepting Muslims without them excepting us, it is the same thing that is happening in Israel, Darfur, Bangladesh & Pakistan, they don’t except that other cultures need room to flourish too.

This takes us to the question on why we are in the ME in the first place? To make them understand those empowered & happy women bring to a happier society that gives birth too many arts. That understanding other cultures through western history, only makes the country better equipped for the future were everyone will have to do its part to sustain the world growth.
