I'm looking to buy a pair of colour VR goggles with seperate inputs for each eye to connect to 2 different videos, video cameras or TVs. Does anyone know if there is anything like this on the market or know any good DIY designs on the web?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

what about affecting the optic nerve without the human eyeball as an intermediary. i'm convinced it could be done without physically invading the tissues involved. EM transmitters that can interact with electrical signals would be sufficient, but would require extremely precise emitters, along with immensely complex control algorithms. the potential for reverse engineering would not be an option for some pretty obvious reasons, so for such a system to be anything even approaching mainstream, they would have to self destruct upon the slightest indication of tampering. wannabe reverse engineering hackers frying people's optic nerves would simply not be an option.
of course the optic nerve wouldn't be the only one of use for VR. given a complete understanding of the spinal chord could enable any sort of real world sensation within the virtual world, while allowing the body to remain stationary. you could even have your body working out in a gym while your brain thought it was fighting an epic battle. you could also leave the majority of motor functions unaltered and only affect certain bits of your perception of touch if need be. this would require a wide open space though obviously if you were say playing a video game that involved running around. sigh...boring obvious bullsh#$% what's the wait? |
