Sunny: this amounts to selective discrimination. Why would I not be allowed to carry a weapon an amritdhari is allowed to?
If a new religion is formed today that talks about carrying some other weapon then will you allow that? I do not think so. I am sure sikhs and the their religious leaders can figure out a way to handle this situation where Amritdharis can travel without a weapon. I am sure when these traditions were made the concept of planes was not in question and not considered. So a progressive community like sikhs can find morepractical ways to implement these modifications to fit in the definitions / requirements of the changing times.
Yes, but you don't have a need to carry a Kirpan, whereas an Amritdhari does, as it is one of the 5Ks.
It can be as practical as modern life - it does not get in the way. As I said before, airport scanners can continue to function, but just making an exception for an Amritdhari.

I understand what you are saying but do not agree with your approach.

Let's run a scenario:
A Hindu Kshatriya is supposed to carry weapons all the time (they do not do it now since time has changed). A hardliner sect can start believing and enforcing this rule. So will we allow hindu Kshatriyas to carry a weapon of choice in the plance?

Pat this is Kirpan is not a weapon like u are trying to suggest.
The "KIRPANS" of SIKHS have saved differnt people of human race at diferent point of timeas i wrote before
1) Hindus from Mughals
2) Chrisitans from NAZIS
3) Muslims from fantics.
It is "GODS" desire that we protect all his creations including you too dear "PAT"
Harinder: You do understand that generally sikhs as a community have done good deeds with Kirpan but it still is a weapon and can hurt anyone and can be used as an offensive tool.

I am serious: If they allow amritdharis to carry kirpan then I will become one and carry a 30 inch blade on an airplane.

It is not a Weapon dear friend.
It is the protection of "GOD" over all his creations.
Taking away Kirpans form SIKHS will deprive Man kind from a "DIVINE PROTECTION" of "GOD"

Yes, but Kshatriyas no longer are required to carry one, because as you say, times have changed.
Sikhs, well Amritdharis anyway, are required to carry the 5Ks.

No you won't, because you won't be a true Amritdhari. If you become one just so you can carry a "30 inch blade on an airplane" then you obviously won't be a true Sikh and will therefore not be allowed by the community to become Amritdhari, because they will see you as not ready.

Hindu religion is know for so many sects and multiple thought processes. If a new sect starts that mandates that its followers carry weapons then they will demand the same rights.

This idea will not fly.

If that is true then you are lucky. At least in US these guys would catch you and put you in lock-up for this.

Harinder: No offence, but let’s be practical and not use profound words that do not make sense.

Sikhs donot carry weapons on flights in US, Canada, UK or any other country that I know of. It has not changed their faith. This is called changing with time. And it is a good thing.

See mullas have not changed and what has happened to them from a world power to a bunch of terroist. Did not take too long.

in 1776 when This nation declared its independence. The news traveled to the Middle easT, where 18 Muslim states immediately declared war on a people who had done nothing to them. The declaration was that we should pay them tribute to Allah for permission to use the Atlantic and Mediterranean. American Political leaders who are ignorant of this history have no business running for an office in the first place. They Immediately began attacking American shipping. They would come aboard and those they hadn't murdered in Allah's name were beaten and raped and then sold into slavery and they would steal their goods all the while waving around the Koran. This helpless young democracy was parasitized by these people for 44 years we had treaties with 18 different Muslim states agreeing to pay them so they would not act like murdering, thieving, raping, vicious criminal thugs. The first ship we sent to negotiate and pay them had a captain naive enough to go ashore when they asked, they promptly sold him and his crew into slavery, and stole the ship. Although we eventually paid a ransom for these men, many of them your countrymen never came home again and lived out their lives in a horrifying existence. The reason that there are no 1804 silver dollars is that we loaded them all onto ships to pay the Bey Of Algiers, one years Tribute, 44 million dollars when the average working mans salary was 5.00 a month. These clowns sucked the life from a young struggling peoples called America. When the Marines and the US kicked Their asses at Tripoli we finally broke their terror after 44 years of payments, The terror then came from the West coast of Africa where there was a battle between US Marines and some Giant African Chief, who was plundering American shipping while bandying around a Koran again. Once that was defeated they moved the criminal activity to Eastern Africa where it never really had stopped. In the 1870's they would sneak aboard American ships in the South east Asia, they had a fortress at Qualla Battoo where the US Navy wiped them out for their terror. They moved their terror into The Philippines wiping out entire units of American soldiers. this went on until we were thrown out by the Japanese. They were on the wrong side in WW1 they made war on US in WW2 and in the cold war, they have sat back and slaughtered Americans every chance they have had. All the while waving this book around professing their religion. And now they want to over here and Buy up gas stations and jam their nonsense down our throats.File court cases against our beliefs and our people. Push this religion and build mosques all over. The entire history shows 2 Things 1. that the freedom loving peoples of America are owed a massive amount of monies by the Muslim states that should be accounted for in the world court with interest and damages. and paid off in Oil and other resources in a way that benefits every family. 2.That Our leaders have failed Us Miserably In securing Our future. That most of these self serving ignorant parasites need to be removed and executed for treason. finally you have made war on our people for over 2 centuries GO HOME and hope we don't wipe you from the face of the earth !

Kirpaan means 'hands of mercy'
its a symbol of strength and self-respect and it is to be used in defence of ones faith and to protect the poor and needy...this would be the only reason a sikh would use a kirpaan
people are just assuming that a sikh would use it 4 the wrong reason yet every sikh knows theres no danger around a sikh wearing a kirpaan
Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his Panj Piyare wore it so it must be worn by an amritdhari at all times

But wats the need of a kripan on airport and planes where there is enuf security? Kirpan had a purpose 300 yrs ago. It isnt just a piece of metal.
If guru gobind singh is watching from above i m sure he is ashamed tht he cudnt convey the proper message cuz u sikhs behave like zombies when it comes to 5 Ks and can never understand the rationale behind.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
