This Optimum Wi-Fi sounds like a good idea, so long as they don't make you pay extra for it, or raise the price of Optimum Online, which is already pretty expensive. It should work as a good marketing tool for Optimum Online vs. it's competitors, offsetting the need to charge more, but remember, these are the same guys who run the Knicks, so they could do something stupid at any moment.

Well, that confirms it....you are a Cablevison employee. A lying, deceiving employee of Darth Dolan.
In a previous post, you said you spend $100 a month on triple play and it saves you $200 a month?
1. That would mean that seperately cable, phone and internet would be $100 a month each....NO ONE is charging that.
2. You are an employee, you don't spend a dime on it....IT IS FREE to loyal s c u m b a g employees like yourself.
Employee , No i think Not, and as for a previous post. You must have a real comprehension issue. I never posted that, try reading again. This time get someone to help you.

Check prices of TVs, PCs, ACs lately?
This is true, but you are also talking about things that have planned obsolescence.

"Free" wireless is akin to "free" internet providers which then started shrinking your screen with ads around the perimiter then later dropping the free altogther once they had enough subscribers who liked to keep their email addresses. Does anyone here remember how Netzero got it's name? Yep, it was free when it started, now it touts itself as being only half the cost of AOL.

Cablevision is a company who loves making money. They raise television rates unchecked and have for years and years. They have raised the ticket cost of Rangers tickets 34% since the lockout ( in which their operating costs were slashed more than 20%). If you really believe that they are going to provide anything for free, you are out of your mind.

Verizon had attempted a similar project a few years back with "free" public hotspots in the NYC area. The catch being the same as it is here, you had to be a subscriber at home or work. They dumped the idea because it was too cost intensive for the return.

You are going to see the same thing here. Cablevision is going to find that the potential profit for such a system is not worth the cost. Much like their its failed satellite venture Voom. This isn't going to work for them, if it does great. But you can rest assured if they get it up and running they will find some way of charging the hell out of you for it.

Stock had risen 4.50 over the past 2 days. So unlike you moron's who post here who cannot see past their nose, others see a bright future.
Hahahaha... and are you trying to say that all stocks that go up stay up?

Don't you have any sense of history?

You're correct. I was just replying to JB when he said that prices never go down on anything these days.

Hahahaha... ok, so you are a genius, you knew exactly when the stock hit rock bottom. For some reason I don't believe that, but for the sake of argument. Good job.

Did you end up selling at $27? Because you would have just lost $1000. by doing so. Being that it's at $28.20 right now.

But again, I point out that Cablevision has made huge mistakes with investments in the past and it's tanked their stock. When the sheep go marching in on speculation and news propaganda, sure stock prices go up... then guys like you start getting out for the quick buck and it starts going down again.

A stock price going up doesn't mean that the company is making the right choices or that the new product will be successful, it just means speculators are willing to take a shot at a quick buck.
