My church believes we are in the last days. The Bible says we'll be at war.

So far B*sh has us going on for five years and counting.

We'll (USA) just go out fighting.

We worried about running out of coal to heat our houses, now we are using oil or LP or natural gas.
There is still a lot of coal in the ground and I expect we will be using another source before we run out of oil. The article talks about wind and solar energy, but doesn't mention electricity generated by water falls/dams. I hope we don't build a lot of Nuclear power plants because the plutonium byproduct sounds really dangerous.

Just because something "sounds" dangerous, doesn't mean it is. Nuclear power is the cleanest, safest energy form we have. Too many people are living with the fear generated by 3 mile island many years ago. Those days are over. Nuclear plants provide clean, open water during winter and are a safe haven for many birds that need open water in winter.

Wind power is not "green", but red with the blood of songbirds and bats that slam into them during their nighttime migrations or large birds that get sucked into the turbines. They are an eyesore, ruin the scenery, and they take up thousands of acres of needed wildlife habitat.

I just don't understand why we don't uncap the Alaskan oil to buy us time to find an alternative. For God sakes, we are America! Why is it that we cannot do this?

"W" has had a republican Congress, both houses, for most of his administration. He could have allowed drilling off Florida, in Anwar or wherever. Jeb didn't want it off Florida. Anwar wouldn't really provide much and it is such a "talking point" for repugs to throw out everytime anyone brings up oil shortages, he couldn't take it off the table. There is plenty of oil! Two recent discoveries in Brazil may make that country the richest in the Western Hemisphere, more oil than Saudi Arabia! More oil is waiting to be found but if you provide more, then the price/profit goes down. When you have a monopoly you get to control supply and the price along with your profits! Hmmmm, wonder why all the big companies bought out the thousands of small competitors? Wonder why they bought out all the smaller refineries and shut them down? Wonder why they haven't increased refining, running at 85 percent capacity?$$$$$$$$$ So much for "Free Trade"!

we need to use algae for biofuel.oil is what algae turned into by being compressed and heated over time.with the size of maryland wich sounds like a lot of land but it is not we can produce all our fuel for traveling with leftovers and not compete with crops for food and grazing or compete with land for food crops.corn,sugar and other slow growing crops take months to produce and their is not enough land in the u.s. to produce enough biofuel using these crops.algae reproduces in hours and can supply the united states with 100 percent of our fuel for traveling.4oo billion dollars a year that we pay for oil will stay in our economy and away from iran,iraq,saudi arabia,venezuela,russia and other countries,we won't have to spend trillions of dollars changing our infrastructure because the tanks and pumps are in place already,we won't have to build nucleur reactors,it will create and maintain jobs in the us to build and manage the algae farms,algae consumes carbon dioxide,reversing global warming.we are running out of coal,oil,natural gas and russia and other countries will try to claim waters that have been unexplored because of ice that no longer covers these waters possibly creating wars over energy resources.we can be independant on foreign oil,we have the technology,it will be an algae economy instead of an oil one.grow the algae in bioreactors and squeeze the algae and you have diesal and a lot of it.do you're research and you will find it very interesting,type in algae for biofuel.it can be done in everybody's backyard to produce their own diesal,they have machines now that do it.use solar pannels for rooftops to supply energy for homes and use algae for biofuel and electric to power cars.when we recharge the cars in our home the electric will be produced from solar instead of oil or coal,natural gas.right now if we had all electric cars we would have to recharge them using what we are dependant upon and running out of,solar rooftops will eliminate this problem and allow us to also use electric cars in addition to algae biofuel cars.this does not solve all of our global warming problems but it buys us time and releases the grip that terrorist countries and other bad countries have on us.the countryu with the most energy resources will be the most powerfull, this is why russia is becoming dangerous and powerfull again.
