been there9 wrote: <quoted text>Hey Otra Tequila, are you getting hit with this heat wave. My place usually survives the hot weather well as I'm under a lot of trees, but it's pretty stifling. All I can do is sit around with the windows and door open and all the lights off. Amazing how much heat a light bulb can produce. Hi been there! Yes, spring has sprung finally. Two weeks ago it was snowing and yesterday it was 75 degrees. The forcast for today is sunny and temperatures in the 80's. I am going to enjoy it for the next few days because it is almost certain that we will drop back to temperatures in the 60's next week. We always laugh and say that summer arrives here after the 4th of July! That King county ban on plastic bags, which goes into effect soon, I believe is just the beginning here. It is strange that over the past two years at least, Safeway and QFC (here) have subtly pushed plastic bags on consumers. I have been gathering my own re-usable grocery bags for some time now. It is fun to go to a store with another stores logo on your bag. Talk to you later and stay cool (well, you are already cool, but weather wise... hehe)

It is fun to go to a store with another stores logo on your bag. Talk to you later and stay cool (well, you are already cool, but weather wise... hehe) Hey a whopping in the 80's. That's nothing. My covered porch is already at 82 degrees and mind you I'm under the trees. Even though the beach is only 20 minutes away it was way to much traffic to contend with. I know what you mean about the up and down in the weather. Last week I had to build a fire (as you know it is my only heat source) in my woodstove at night, now I have my ceiling fan on. So glad you are into doing your own bag thing. We see bags from all kinds of other stores at our store. We don't care. It is a great opportunity to promote yourself if you are a business. Could even be your own , doesn't have to be a store. I just read that Ireland has put a tax on plastic bags to discourage their use. I think that's awesome. Also had to do laundry today(at the mat) and picked up a magazine with an article about Dr.Weil. If you don't know him ,his name is big right now for having written some books. He is a doctor that is into healthy lifestyles and preventative ways to staying healthy. One of the most important things he suggests is getting enough Omega-3's in your diet. Salmon of course is the best source. Interestingly enough, he suggests sockeye salmon as the best source, which he says is a type of salmon which cannot be farmed. He clearly believed farmed salmon is much lacking in Omega-3's and said so in the article. Funny how these things come to me sometimes. Just a little extra confirmation from the universe I call it. Even while doing laundry reading a mag, the universe and your guides will find you. Sorry, didn't mean to get too esoteric. Have a great day and enjoy!!!

One other problem with fish populations in the Atlantic,is abandoned ,commercial fish nets. These are often thousands of miles of "Ghost" nets..They continue to trap all kinds of fish.of course they all die.Intern becoming bait for more fish.A nautical nightmare.
Ireland,Spain,Briton, are some involved in this cleanup.
Hardest hit are deep water fish.Sharks being hit the most.
Its part of the problem, but not the only one......."Red Lobster" is the Other LOL!!

Funny how no one can explain why this so-called "scam" has only been used to wring funds out of the government in the past few years. If it's such a great scam, why didn't scientists use it before now?

Yes, that was the movie that "An Inconvenient Truth" was the remake of.:)

Didn't work, so they had to come up with a new idea.

Totally unrelated topic..but you try and fire that many shots from different directions in that amount of time with an old Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action...:) see how that works out for you.:) Also, don't double cross the Mafia after they help you into office. Never a good idea.:)

You were hoping to hit the enviros, then got upset that no one commented to your baiting. Can you quote anything that an environmentalist has said about Earth ceasing to exist? I don't think that concerns any of us anywhere near as much as our actions causing humans and other species to cease to exist. We are dependent on a web of life and when that starts getting destroyed, we run the risk of destroying ourselves. Oh, and so you don't feel bad - here's an insult. If our bulbs are dim, yours is burnt out. Sorry I can't summon any real anger against you. You stupid ass, you actually think that we are influencing global warming? Naive enviro puss! I can't wait until this warming cycle ends and and you bitches will be whinning about how expensive it is to keep your home warm. Look out, the sky is falling, dumbass.

Being a geologist, I may have a little more knowledge regarding periods of cooling ans warming. Also, human production of CO2 is onle 4.5% of that which is naturally produced by the earth. Now CO2 is the "weakest of the green house gases in it's ability to hold heat. Trees LOVE the stuff. And, as stated previously, you, Al Gore, and all of the other enironmental wackos won't be able to heat your homes unless you get and education and a real job. have a nice life.

With a degree? How is it you don't know that "it's" is a contraction for "it is"? How is it that so many other scientists equally or better qualified than you disagree? If it's so clear-cut, then why would there be such a divide? And why, again, are you so pissy when someone asks you a question about your assertions? You sound like a whiny little nerd who's on the defensive. Why is that? Is your livelihood being threatened? Do you work for big oil? What's you damage? Great education you've got there. Thanks for the laugh!

Again with insults - I think my job as an engineer, and bachelor degrees in computer science and electronic technology qualify as a real job and education. You hardly need to be a geologist to know trees love CO2. CO2 is not the only culprit behind climate change. Let us know the scientific studies you have done to determine climate change is a scam? Please point us to the scientific journals in which your work has been published. I would like to see your data that refutes what nearly all major scientific researchers have been saying.

I get "pissy" when I hear the drivel coming out of idiot boobs. There are more iportant things in life other then worrying about the falling sky. I never said the climate wasn't in flux, it's always in flux. I thing a volcano erupting in peru has a little more influence of emitting gasses into the atmosphere than our cars. CO2 is not the enemy.
