how do i hide my isp location

I want to know how to not have my ISP location show everytime I sign in? Is there a way to do that? Sometimes I see people come in from different locations all the time. sometimes they no ISP. Somtimes it even says anonymous ISP. How do I do this??????

You can go on line and get a stealh program, some servers offer to you on your system or your firewall may have a setting that may do it. But there is software that will stop it or show you someplace that you are not where you really are, like diffrent Countries, I down loaded one the other night for free, but have not had time to really look at and it offers a million new ISP a day for free? YOU just have to know where and what to look for , I did the search because I noticed the same thing also( no ISP). But I new there was stealh programs out there but I wanted one for free( Im cheap) LOL.

I will check my firewall.

I've Tried alot of these ip address masks and thusfar I have found that anonymizer is the best! It does slow down your connection a little because when on it redirects to their server first but you will get a free trial and the suite has some really good features like anonymous mail, digital shredder, and spyware/phishing programs! i ahve tried quite a few and they are the top in my oppinion at this point!! 2 easiest ways are to

1. Use an IP spoofer
2. Connect to a proxy ( www.proxy.org )

A proxy as the name suggests is an intermediary connection. This won't hide the name, it will show a different name

First ---- Reboot your computer, to get it nice and clean.

Next ---- Click "Start"

Then ---- Right click on Control Panel

Then ---- Clic

Just for the record, my location is posted on-again and off-again with my alias. At seemingly random times my location is identified either as Huntsville or Madison, Alabama. At no time have I ever exerted any control over the way it is posted, nor can I offer any explanation.

One more thought... It is probabaly a good thing to post location because it is a restriction against abuse.

Actually, it has to do with the registration process.

Try re-registering under a new name, BUT ....... don't give them any more "real" information than you have to.

I don't know what you have to do to get those fancy green ID's. but I suspect that you have to give them too much info.

Try getting a cheapo sign-on........ and when they ask for a location, look at a map and pick a location. That's what I did.

I don't remember if I had to separately register for Topix.

For example, I "registered" thru the Chicago Tribune,(which you have to do to read their paper, anyway.) with a valid throw-away E-mail address, and with a made-up location, and every few hours it changes my location.(Close, but not, exactly the same.) Also, you can change your sign-in name for every post if you want.(I'm guessing that you can't do that with those fancy green ID's, but I could be wrong.)

I really haven't explored the process, so I can't give you a "technical answer".

But, it works for me. And without any downloaded software.

I went to proxy.org and tried to post anonymously on Topix, but the 4-digit code image you need to type in order to post here never shows up when I try to post. This happened no matter what proxy site I selected from proxy.org .
