Md. official elaborates on stem cell views

Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele said Saturday he supports stem cell research as long as scientists approach it cautiously, one day after he apologized for comparing the research to Nazi medical experiments.

First of all, comparing stem cell research to Nazi medical experiments seems a wee bit harsh. Sounds to me that this fellow ought to ask the public what it is that they actually want. And I'm pretty sure we wouldn't vote it as a Nazi medical experiment.

i personally would appreciate it if politicians would stay out of medical issues. this entire topic should be left up to those who know a bit more about it than leutenant governors.
