The use of police horses and dogs during riots is cowardly to say the least, and placing animals’ lives in danger is wrong. The police can use more force against rioters if armed with tools such as water cannon, and riot guns which fire gas cartridges or rubber bullets. Instead they use animals which are a hindrance, and could slow them down if they need to move quickly in dangerous situations. How cruel and spineless to force those frightened animals to take the brunt of the violence.
