Boxing great Muhammad Ali receives Liberty Medal

Full story: www.philly.com

Muhammad Ali, dressed in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, stood nearly motionless Thursday night as he stared down intently at the Liberty Medal that had just been presented to him.

The 70-year-old Ali, fighting through his Parkinson's disease, briefly lifted his right hand to acknowledge the sustained standing ovation of the audience on the front lawn of the National Constitution Center.

For being a great American.

And if avoiding the Vietnam draft was a bad thing, Mitt Romney would be disqualified from holding public office.

Avoiding the draft? You mean like mittwit who thought it was more important to serve his cult than his country. How about his five military age sons?

Leftists defend Cassius Clay because he initiated Black rebellions and riots to avoid responsibility for their own character flaws. This is similar to Obama basically saying he understands why radical Muslims he arms are murderers, but it's not nice... except Obama can't box.

That is a total lie. Ali did not want to fight people he did not consider an enemy.

So, you're saying he was a Communist terrorist sympathizer, who made false claims about Blacks being deployed in higher percentages. Keep exposing him for what he was.

If you don't love THE CHAMP, you are not a real American.

Go back to China, or South America, or whateever hole you crawled out of.

It seems the truth to you is that Cassius suddenly had an epiphany of needing to be a part of the "religion of peace." That kind of loony epiphany guarantees Alzheimer's, which leads to a very clear representation of Islam's collective memory.

I appreciated his skill and stamina. He fought the best for 3 decades.

That said, I think he's scum like farrakahn and rev wrong who get rich off America's freedom while they piss on it.

I also think full contact sports should be outlawed. I played a few, and still feel it from time to time. We are now learning that no helmet can prevent concussions in football. I don't support the liberal pussification and emasculation of our young men, but some sports have devolved into utter barbarity. Look at the bounty system that got the NO Saints in trouble. Sports is one of the many reasons our colleges are overpriced and fail at teaching basic skills needed to compete in society too. Look at the Pedd State sandusky paterno connection.

You twist the facts to a point where they are unrecognizeable. Ali's conversion to Islam was sincere, and it pre-dated attempts to draft him for military service.
Personally, I do not support religions, particularly those that have a violent lunatic fringe. However, Ali's devotion to peace was as heartfelt as that of the truest of Christians.

I will grant you he didn't try to bite anyone's ear off. Yet, his embrace of Communist lying propaganda influencing fellow Blacks to riot and mayhem was questionable.
