W.Va. gas station bans most credit cards

My comment to this would be regardless of what the gas station owners lose just because we chose to you plastic at the pump it isn't a concern for us paying to have to worry about, we have been forced to to pre pay at the pumps and not knowing exactly how much is going to be needed to fill up completely so we pull out the plastic to use. You station owners don't care about the price gauging you do to all of us so why should we really care if you lose .98 on the deal or not.. SUCK UP THE LOSS!

I pay for gas with a credit card because I get to expense all my gas. That wouldnt work with this station.

Many reasons to pay with credit card. I am always in a hurry, and it saves time to not have to go in. Plus, now they want payment in advance. Big enough hassle trying to pay for the gas without trying to play God and figure out exactly how much you need. Then gotta stand in big line because I always try to find the cheap gas, so stand in line behind people buying smokes etc. Also, the pumps are slow as can be when you prepay as it seems like takes a year to get the last 20 cents in, and that is a bummer in the Winter. I cannot think of one pleasant thing about buying gas, and it is becoming an unbearable experience. I have nightmares with all the confusion that I will have a senior moment and forget to pay thinking I have already paid, and spend my life in jail with free insurance and free meals while you other suckers pay 10.00 an hour for gas. Got to make a joke as it is somewhat of a nighmare.

I hope the owners that want to ban credit cards lose all of their business! I do mean all of it... All the way down to their over priced, dusty twinkies, and green tea! Don't let the bastards get you down!, there is a gas station on almost every corner! This is a joke!

OMG! Will they not stop?!?!?!?! First they are allowed to eat our money by price gouging, that makes the price of everything else go up. Now they are telling us how to pay for our gas. You know not everybody has cash on them all of the time. I never have cash on me. What if I need gas and all I have is my credit card? What if I don't have enough money in my checking account. Have they thought about people writing bad checks on closed accounts or something. This is ridiculous. The Government is behind this!!!! Then on top of price gouging everything from gas to a gallon of milk, I have to pay taxes!

It is unfortunate that the gas station has decided to ban cards. Haven't there been plenty of reports and speculation that in a few years paper money will pretty much exist no more. I agree with everyone here I do not carry cash myself I use my card for everything b/c it is just easier for me to keep tabs on where I am spending and it also makes me think twice before spending, whereas if I was carring cash I would not think twice about spending it. I would not go to that station anymore. Also as everyone has stated how are you supposed to prepay when you have no idea how much it will take to fill up your tank. I am not going to give them $100 and have it only take $85 and have to go back in and wait in line again to get my money back.

I use my CC every time I get gas at Shell. I get 5% back on every gallon. I don't know why you people want to waste your money on "points". I never buy anything at a gas station except gas. That way the station doesn't make any more money off of me than I need them to. I also watch how I drive and have increased my MsPG by 50% so right there they are getting another 50% less than I need them to. Get a Shell card that gives you 5% on your money and quit yer bitchin.

Oh now, if you use your card at the gas station, if gas is $4.09 a gallon, you will be charged like $4.35 a gallon. They are advertising different prices. 7-11 in Pineville did it to a girl I know. So ya'll be careful when you use your credit cards around here.
