U Can Do It wrote: Well, if you can't join them - make your own! It is clearly obvious that this "Ken" is not interested in hearing any opinions &/or facts from coal supporters. That's fine, just shows that he's asinine, biased, delusion, & anti-American - First Amendment! Can “Ken” spell INFRIGMENT?? Start a boycott against his one-minded, diminutive blog! These anti-coal radicals would have a sit-in, march, TV commercial if the tables were turned! I say start your own coal blog and reject all comments from any and all "tree huggers" and/or environmentalists! If "Ken" can do it, so can you! Great suggestion, but I'm not techie enough to start a blog, nor would I probably keep it updated. And of course, I'd need a following. But...a blog has been started to point out the Gazette's & Ken's fallacies & who they support --- not the miners of WV, but those who are trying to shut them down. You can visit http://gazettetattoo.com/ to place comments that Ken won't allow and http://www.supportwvcoal.com/ to sign & show your support for coal & Senator Mike Green's effort to help the state & industry. I only know about about the gazettetattoo site because Ken mentioned it on his blog the very day AFTER it showed up on the 'net. Guess with his ego he googles every few minutes to read the latest about himself. For somewho who labels himself as fair & trying to present both sides, it's amazing how many environmental sites cite and promote his blog - actions not words is what usually tells the real story.

Ken just posted "Friends of Coal: Manchin sets big meeting with industry" by Ken Ward Jr. and at the end he asks a couple of questions: "You think anyone at the meeting will bring up the fact that the cap-and-trade bill is estimated to cost the average American household less than 50 cents a day? Will they talk about how the costs of inaction on climate change outweigh the costs of trying to fix the problem?" and guess what? 5:49 pm November 6, 2009 Comments Off Guess he got too many on Coal Tattoo investigates: Is there a MTR permit crisis? Over 50 (is that a record before he cut off comments because the comments challenged his opinion & slanted information?) Oh well - I can't get past his spamonator blocker anyway. Way to Go Mr. Ward - I guess as King Louis XVI (Mel Brooks would say) "It's good to be the King" Ken's Blog http://blogs.wvgazette.com/coaltattoo/

I think Ken has his eyes on the next big Enviro cash award to be handed out like the one Marie Gunnoe was awarded. Go back on tattoo and check out the exchange between him and Matt Wasson from the Huffington Post about Matt scooping Ken on the resumption of blasting on the massey job that the greenies were trying to put wind turbines on. Matt covered the story over that weekend and Ken was asleep at the wheel or AWOL somewhere. Snooze, you lose! Obviously Jeff Biggers and company have eyes on the prize also!

Well, several days later Ken has decided to turn on the comment & allow discussion on "Coal Tattoo investigates: Is there a MTR permit crisis?" Why the delay? Did he get together with like-minded environmental friends & colleages to coordinate strategy? Did some complain privately that they had something to say & Ken relented? Did he does forget to "turn on" the comment"?(doubt it, since he has sometimes used that defense & announced it later). This could be the reason: Clem Guttata shares that he's working on links related to “the economic impact of coal” to share with Gov. Manchin. Ken follows up with a go-head & reminds readers that he has already shared some. http://blogs.wvgazette.com/coaltattoo/2009/11... And my question - if you are pro-coal & you want a face-to-face meeting with the governor - why would you invite the enemy to the meeting?

I have signed the petition, but I still feel that this "Ken" is infringing upon our rights. Just because we share a different opinion or outlook on the situation, in which he choose to go public with, does not allow him to disregard us. This only shows me that he is a coward! Another word that comes to mind is "Liar" since he did state that his blog was to "hear both sides" - not true! I wonder how the gazette would feel if coal associated citizens of the state would begin terminating their subscriptions to their biased aimed newspaper. Freedom of press is listed in the First Amendment, right along with freedom of speech. If "Ken" is disregarding our right to speak, then the paper is allowing his tactics. What about a boycott/petition against the gazette?? I would sign that petition as well! There are two sides to every story!

I wanted to alert Ken Ward to another side of the story of the age-discrimation suit against Massey -- of course I couldn't get by his spamonator. He often says he welcomes all viewpoints and encourages links to information. From someone close to the action & has a different story to tell: "Rumors debunked about Massey Energy" "In reference to the courts’ age discrimination lawsuit settlement between Spartan Mining and Cannelton UMWA employees:" http://www.register-herald.com/letters/local_...
