Its hard for a 16 year old to find a job I suggest retail rather than fast food.To the other girl anyone who hires a babysitter off the web deserves to have their children sliced and diced try word of mouth(church) and have references, drastic world drastic measures.

Since you have a computer, maybe get her in to selling her old clothing, toys, and other items on ebay. She can work from home and be safe. Good Luck!

Hey Wondering,

I think it's great that you're trying to find a job.

I live in Texas and work for a school system. The kids are always asking for money and when I say to some of them, "Go out and get a job if you need $.50 that bad." The answer, "We're too young to work." Of course, they're only junior high age but I commented, "You can mow lawns, clean houses, or haul hay." The response, "We don't do that." Hmmmm! Now these definitely sound like welfare cases to me and at such a young age, they're already learning how to take advantage of the system thanks to their delightful parents. Or else they don't do that because they're not white.

It is definitely a crazy world out there with adults getting lazier and lazier and their children learning all the wrong values from them.

Kudos to you to want to work and to your parents for raising you right. That's what my chldren did too, and they're only better for it today as adults adding to society, not taking away from it.

Good luck to you in your search. I wish I could tell you where to apply but since I live in TX and only wish I lived in WV, I'm no help.

And thanks too to the few that have commented nicely to you. By the way "wondering", YOU are not arrogant!!

You should find plenty of work with arrogance like that. Just go down to the welfare office and beg for money like every other West Virginian does. Just don't tell them you want to work or they will think you're from out of state.
maybe you should mind your own bussiness this is my add not urs if u would like to act like a 3rd grader and bad mouth w.v thats you choice but please do it somewhere else...thank you

Just ignore the negativity. Somebody was probably mean to him in his life and he's spewing out the poison he can't hold inside.
Good luck finding a job. There is always somebody needing their walk shoveled...the snow season is on it's way!

Good gracious. How can you even talk like this to a 15 year old? She posts on the forum to get insight on jobs and all you do is insult her and everyone else.
No, people from Texas are not psychic. It's obvious she isn't arrogant, just looking for work and then getting disgusting remarks from someone that I'm supposing is an adult in years.
Give the kid a break; most of them nowadays are way too lazy to work and just want more from their parents and of course, many parents are enablers and are making them into helpless no accounts.
I don't know you, but I'll pray for you anyway!
hey thanks again for takin up for me it makes me feel good to know that im not wrong hes just givin me a hard time...

Nathan, google search on companies in your area. If they have a web site, they often have a careers or jobs section where you can apply. Also, talk to people, parents of friends, people at church, etc. They may be aware of opportunities where they work. Companies much prefer hiring people that a current employee know to an applicant that they know nothing about.
