New Court of Valor honors veterans

Same YDR bullshit. The one picture, same o, same o. Diversity and political correctness I guess. F _ _ Kin sickening. No offense to the gentleman, but there were many other veterans there today as well. Saw the York County Veterans Honor Guard was there. Sorta of a color-blind volunteer group there. That wouldn't make a good picture for the YDR though.

I understand these Veterans deserve recognition but it doesn't make sense to use a steel beam from Ground Zero as a monument for it. Don't you think that should be reserved for victims of the attack and soldiers involved in the War on Terror?

The War on Terror did not begin on September 11, 2001; nor even in February of 1993 witht he first World Trade Center bombing; nor even with the takeover of US territory (embassy) in Tehran in 1979.

The US Marine Corp was founded in no small part to smash the Barbary pirates, the ancestors of today's hijackers and terrorists. That was during the Jefferson presidency.

The War on Terror has been fought on many fronts through many centuries.

Why does the color of one's skin matter under these circumstances? How many of you making comments served in the military? Time to get priorities straight.

This monument and flag display is nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt by Jack Sommers and the other owners of the Prospect Hill cemetary. Shameful at best to honor veterns of all wars with a piece of steel from the WTC. Many more ways to honor those who serve and we should leave it to the military and Arlington to due it with grace and no marketing ploy at the root of it. And on top of it to invite a political figure in an active race to such an event cheapens it even more. It's bad enough when Gary Sutton hogs his patronizing way into the events but a political figure who has not voted consistantly for troop fundings is even more shameful. While a vetern Sestak was administration and very political throughout his career. Careful voters.

"Bible Thumper III" you are so very correct. Citizens are "swayed" by sentiment and do not notice/understand the commercialism connected with the humongous flag display at Prospect Hill Cemetery, now this farce. Yes, I am a veteran. Veterans deserve their just recognition. We all have a monument/memorial somewhere in York County to our time in service that is not commercialised. There are many qualified veterans who could be master-of-ceremonies, without some local-yokel radio wanna be attempting to do the job. Folks, get a grip on what is happening on THAT hill.

This monument is a piece of crap. The piece of WTC steel should not be there. Many of these veterans are snobs - they think their service was better than someone else's. I noticed some veterans who died serving their country were not on the monument. What a waste.

Once again instead of the people of York embracing this unique opportunity to celebrate the people who chose to protect our country - you spend your enery nitpicking about the photos of politicians, newspaper circulation, commercialism, and veteran snobs. Here is a monument to honor all veterans, people like my Dad and probably yours. We are lucky that Prospect Hill has the ability to house such a monument and we are lucky that we are able to share it. Get off your negative soap box, get involved, and look for the good in celebrations like this. If you've got a better idea - do it and stop complaining about those people who actually try to do something good.

The monument is was made to honor Men who served and died for our Great Nation, those who nit-pick about the steel coming from the world Trade Center should realize that it is to symbolize America under seige, and encompasses all events from the Revolutionary War to the Present! Many men, including my Father-in-Law were Honored and excited to be part of this memorial, so what if it is not perfect, nothing is, so pull-up your diapers and stop whining, can you imagine how your comments wouild hurt those that were honored. God help you, if this is all you can do, is to dishonor those that served America with honor by spouting this kind of vial crap you dont deserve to be considered an American! If you don't like what was done for the York County Veterans, why dont you grow-up and do something yourself to honor the Vets!

Quite a few are members there. Any veteran who fought or served during a war abroad is welcome.
