The initial "bail out" was under Bush but thru a DEM MAJORITY and the subsequent ones all under Obama with the DDEM MAJORITY - you can not disassociate the DEMS from these actions try as you may.
Reading your responses would leave one the impression that you believe H.R. 1424 was rammed through by a Democratic majority against the wishes of the Republican minority and signed into law by a president weakened by public opinion.

This couldn't be further from the truth. 172 Dems and 91 Reps gave it the thumbs up in the House of Representatives vs 63 Dems and 108 Reps opposing it. The senate vote was stronger on both sides 40 Dems and 33 Reps for vs 9 Dems and 15 Reps opposed. That Congress was hardly filibuster proof. The bill got fairly significant bipartisan support as well as compelling support from Bush.

Unless something changes: Monday at 5:30 pm vote on cloture for the bill tuesday night or wednesday morning vote on actual bill. This is what Sen. Reid has scheduled,if republicans agree it can be brought up earlier(techniqly, because they all went home for a long weekend). Good Luck everyone.

I couldn't agree more Trollingin connecticut. You can add CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) to that. What jobs out there are left to apply for? Only two exsist now. McDonalds or Ivory Tower jobs. Not much in between.
