Is it just me, or are anti-war types uncommonly bad spellers? Maybe they should have spent their time doing homework instead of marching in the streets.

Yes, and it is past time for people to believe the evidence of their senses. I believe this war is wrong and shameful. I support our troops, and I say let's bring them home to their families, right where they belong.

They said the exact same thing 35 years ago. And as soon as our troops evac'd Saigon, the Khmer Rouge and the Viet Cong butchered millions. Of course, that's the chapter of the Vietnam war that the likes of Jane Fonda don't want you to know about, because it makes them look bad.

You don't support our troops; you'd disband the whole army if you could.

Sir, don't you even dare to pretend that you know the thoughts of my heart. My husband was in the Viet Nam conflict in 1970-1971. That is where I learned to hate wars. I saw what it did to him, and I don't see how anyone could support the killings and cruelties of any war. I still say that it is past time for people to believe the evidence of their senses concerning this war. Let's support our troops and bring them home.

Translation: You’d disband the whole army if you could. Which is no more than what I said. You know I speak truth; you just don’t care for the way I say it, because it casts you in a negative light.

You talk of the indispensability of people opening their eyes, yet ask them to overlook the gaping holes where two 110-storey office buildings used to stand. You speak of supporting the troops, yet despise their mission and refuse to support them in it.

If either of us is guilty of selective memory or tangled perceptions, it is you. So kindly put away the love beads and peace placards and join us in the 21st century. The Sixties are over, whether you like it or not.

Well, it's nice to see that some people at least do not give in to mindless emotionalism, and actually trouble to use their loaves now and again.

Sir, You seem to have a blood thirst that is very sad and repulsive to me. You also appear to be living in the basement of your brain. You don't even know me, yet you have exhibited such a mean spirit toward me only because I have disagreed with your war mongering attitude.
It doesn't matter if you respond to this, sir, because I will not reply to anything more that you may have to say.

Wanting to defend our country against aggressors is not bloodlust. Unlike Vietnam, America was attacked first in this case. I find your inability to think in anything but in vague emotional terms just as repulsive. It is Man's ability to think that sets him apart; any brainless tadpole can have "fuh-fuh-feelings."

Truth is meanness, to those who prefer delusion over reality. In fact, don’t you represent a generation that found reality so unbearable that it preferred taking illegal psychedelics to facing it? If you intend to influence anyone but unthinking sheeple, Helen, you’re going to have to do better than this.

whose country? u.s. or canada's? your location says canada so i assume thats where you live correct? canada has no troops in iraq, 30 at most is all i could find. just what exactly is the risk you or any canadian is taking in this war? troops are running to canada so they wont have to return to that war. i think young people should do a little more research before the spout off about things they know little of, especially since they have no personal stake in it. if you want war so much why dont you go join up? or aren't you old enough yet?

For that matter, what’s the risk to a peacenik like you? America’s army is composed of volunteers, not draftees. As for the cowardly Liberal government of Canada, I’m pleased to say I voted for its replacement.

I suggest you take your own advice. You have no personal stake in it either. You may not want to join up yourself or even support the war in principle, but you’ll gladly accept the increased security and cheaper oil it’ll bring you if successful. I used to be military but have long since retired. And I think baby boomers should sit down and remember how loudly and violently they disrespected their own parents’ values before they start complaining that their own children don’t respect theirs either.

now what makes you think i am a 'peacenik'? regardless, the 'risk' to me is the fact that i am an american. you are not. that mere fact alone is risk enough. personally i dont think you're old enough to buy a beer let alone what you have stated. at least thats what the content of your posts implies to me. you dont know people yet you seem to pass judgment on them and think you know their values and positions are. i think you are just another young fool who has nothing better to do than come on here and pull peoples chains. you certainly are no better than anyone else on here. just stay in your safe lil country and complain and whine all you want. i have better uses for my time than to waste it on the likes of you. have a nice life.

I'm 36, jerkoff-who-won't-give-his-rea l-name. Of course, I'm probably triple your age anyway, so maybe I do look old to you, jerkoff-who-won't-give-his-rea l-name. Anyway, governments base their actions on how the general population feels, not on how petulant adolescents and their intellectual equals feel, so go cry in your fair-trade latte, jerkoff-who-won't-give-his-rea l-name.
