What a joke. Illegal gambling allowed in Odem as well as Sinton (San Patricio County). His wife has gone to some of these game rooms. Someone needs to file a grievance against the Attorney General through the Texas State Bar. Easy to do if using Necess County and or Dickenson, TX as examples of proper legal procedures controlling gambling. If it were legal, that'd be nice and actually beneficial for all I.E. education etc. EQUITY! Proper business development. Instead, the grocery store is a joke and the only thing that survives is Dairy Queen.

Please wait...
And the sheriff also has part ownership in some of the illegal game rooms. The word is that he has told all of the deputies to not do anything about them. And, that's even with a chief deputy that used to be a Texas Ranger. Is this no man's land or what? Each machine makes money for the county, but are they providing the required % of indigent care based on their revenue... NO!

Who knows if they are taking thier cut ?Ask yourself this question. Why do they have about 10 game( and more on the way)rooms in Falfurrias, that is 9 miles from Premont , and none in Premont ? WHY ? Again its because of politics. Poltics play a major role in this damn county. All the people from Premont who like game rooms go where ? Yes, you guessed it ! Where does all revenue stay ? Again you guessed it. Hell, if you can't fight them,,you guessed again, join'em !

Don't late the name fool you. It is ashamed that the very ones that are to uphold the law are the very ones that are breaking it and covering for each other. They all turn a deaf ear when it comes to the illegal game rooms in San Pat. It is pretty obvious they are getting monies from these places. Remember when channel 3 went into some of the game rooms in Odem a few weeks back? They attempted to talk to the sherriff and his statement was he had an appt. to go to. Yeah right. Maybe he was going to pick up his pay. Oh, and they then attempted to talk to the DA and he played it down. Sounds fishy to me. Then you have the incident where the Wooden Nickle game room was robbed and the police were called. Give me a break. Other places have been robbed, but they don't call the law, because they aren't protected. Politics is bad. They are all under the same blanket. Something really needs to get done about it. Attorney General, come on down.

and the latest, with the closing of the gamerooms in Duval an article in the paper about the revenue that is generated. When officials such as DA, sheriff leroy moody and others questioned, they said it wasn't up to them to crack down, that it had to come from attorney general. The attorney general said it had to come from the locals to investigate and prosecute. In other words, nothing going to get done about it. Gambling will continue in San Pat County, because all elected officials are getting filthy rich. The sheriff just got a lump sum after selling his part of the wooden nickle. Duval county game room operators, come on down.
