Why is it that people can't understand that "the forest is closed" means that it is truly CLOSED? This just floors me!

My life now revolves around safety in our national forest. I witness first hand the STUPIDITY that folks demonstrate in our forests. And it irritates me to the bone that folks will take away my SAFETY at MY HOME because they don't believe the forest closure applies to them.

Listen people. I can't go hiking in the woods and I live up here. That means, you CAN"T go off on some trail, ride your ATV or bike down the roads right now. Hopefully we'll get some rain soon. But it will have to be significant rain. With all the damage that the loopers have caused, the extremely dry conditions and the general ill health of the forest, it will only take one cigarette butt tossed out the window, one spark, and some half-baked excuse of "gee I didn't know this applied to me" to burn me and the other residents up here out of our homes.

God bless the hotshots. I'm so grateful they are trying to protect us. Thank you.

But for the idiots that think that the rules don't apply to them, please, come up to the forest and I'll personally make the phone call to the forest service law enforcement division and have you arrested for not abiding my the closure order.

Closed means CLOSED folks.

And yes, this applies to all of us.

Yes, I notice that this weekend. Kids on their dirt bikes up past Cloudcroft off-road in the tall grasses. I don't understand why people are so careless when there is extreme fire danger.

What the heck. How come they're giving credit to Santa Fe Hot shots. When there was the Trigo fire. The Sacramento Hot shots were there but when it was in the newspaper they said everyone but Sacramento. They're in Florida working theirs butts of and no one ever gives them credit.
