Tennessee Has Nation's Highest Bankruptcy Rate

If gas prices don't go down and wages go up no one is going to afford to go to work or be able to get the needs of food , gas, and other nessesities. If everyone and including the truckers stay home for one day and not buy gas I think it would make a lot of difference.

Wages would have to go up if gas and food prices keep going up. The way things are now it is making it harder on the ones that don't make as much as others.

yes wages need to go up, yes gas needs to go down, but we cannot makes excuses for those who file bankruptcy, most do not even need to do so. they then get out of all debts, its ridicoulous.

Its there because liberal channel 5 isnt going to tell anyone the real truth behind the second hand smoke falacie.......thats just what this tenn smoking ban is a big lie........robert wood johnson foundation bought themselves a smoking ban in the state so they could sell 200million dollars worth of smoking cessation drugs to the state......you have been dupped, passive smoking doesnt harm anyone and thats a fact.....we will get the ashtrays back out and in the public domain. The mom and pop businesses will again thrive and maybe retail liscences will bounce back along with the states revenues, losses incurred because of the smoking ban......wafflehouse business down 60%....people crossing the stateline to eat and shop just because they can smoke in public places.....you dont outlaw 35% of the states population from the public table without repercussions.
Channel 5 should be promoting the truth about the ANTI-SMOKING groups and their far reaching NAZI tactics......you do realize ASH has said the lawmakers need to outlaw smoking in peoples homes and other crazy crap........ut instead channel 5 is in lock step with the anti-smoking NAZIS. |

One day does nothing. If you want to make a difference in gas prices we need to make effects more long term such as no vacations this year, reduce our fuel waste by properly maintaining our cars, driving more responsibly, and quite driving kids down the street to a friends house. I have a SUV owner in my neighborhood, and that vehicle does not stay parked long enough to get cold. |

I think we should take those 18 billion PER YEAR in tax breaks the oil companies were fighting to keep...and give 1 billion dollars each to 18 universities for as many years as it takes to come up with alternatives to adapt our existing engines to hydrogen fuel cells etc.....we have a lot of smart people that could do wonderful things with those research grants |

Air quality test results by Johns Hopkins University, the American Cancer Society, a Minnesota Environmental Health Department, and various researchers whose testing and report was peer reviewed and published in the esteemed British Medical Journal......prove that secondhand smoke is 2.6 - 25,000 times SAFER than occupational (OSHA) workplace regulations:
http://cleanairquality.blogspot.com All nullify the argument that secondhand smoke is a workplace health hazard. Especially since federal OSHA regulations trump, or pre-empt, state smoking ban laws which are not based on scientific air quality test results. Now I have lived in tenn most of my life and I can tell you this. The bans were never about health as has been proven thru air sampling testing over years and years. These bans have come down because anti-smoking NAZIS aka liberal progressives are pushing them as a way to instill socialism on us. The robert woods johnson foundation along with the big pharma companies have bought off state legislatures aroun the country this past 18 months. The world health orginization has forced countries around the world to sign the anti-tobacco treaty and those countries that dont will not get WORLD BANK LOANS to shore up their economies. All this has been comming down since the DEMOCRATS won in 2006..........high gas prices and smoking bbans and a meriad of other restrictive laws and regulations..........dont vote for green liberal progressives..........your only outlawing yourself and your fellow citizens. they wont stop at smokers they are out to outlaw people of obesity too as we saw with the missippi law on obesity that was almost a state amendment to the constitution.......... |

Aside from the high cost of fuel, there is the job market here. What is the average wage paid to workers? How many jobs are there here that require higher levels of education, years of experience and, someone virtually killing themselves to get hired where these jobs are? Righ now I can only find work where the pay is six dollars an hour. It has been like this since 1983 when I virtually had to lick an employer's butt just to get a job cleaning a parking lot. What good does it do to graduate from high school when there are so many diparagies in the work place. People must eat, must have shelter, must have somewhere to bathe and take care of their health. From what I've seen most of the jobs here do not pay a man enough to afford a decent life and therefore, force many to get credit cards and go deeper in debt. This evening I was watching the news. There was an investigation into a company where a man paid almost thiry five hundred dollars for help finding a job. He is now the victim of a scam. It is hard for men to find jobs when they were never given the chance to gain experience in a marketable skill or be able to afford to go to college. With affirmative action and the fact that Tennessee is a right to work state, there will be more men going bankrupt.

I think bankruptcy is what killed our economy.
People who cannot figure out their spending limit are only partially to blame. Credit card companies should not be in business to let them have such limits in the first place. |
