People will not change their opinion on race relations at all, as the hatred will remain, and therefor, continue! Were you ever a slave? No! and I was never a slave owner! Whatever your problem is GET OVER IT! One of the largest slave owners in middle Tennessee was a free black. The African tribal cheifs sold their war captives to the slavers! So, it was NOT just whitety doing it.

Some black people bring things on themselves. Slavery was a very long time ago when none of us were alive so why keep talking about it. It's not like we can go back and change the things that people did to whites and blacks years ago. Get over it already

Racism will never end because there are still too many blacks and whites that keep the fires stoked. I'm not apologizing. I don't think it was right but I didn't own any slaves and I'm sure that none of my poor white relatives did either. In fact, of the 6,000,000 whites in the south, only 385,000 owned slaves. That's about 6.4% and although most slave owners were white, some were black, but you never hear about that. If it's equallity we are after, then let's be equal. Think about this: new TV channel WET (White Entertainment Television), the NAAWP, White People's Choice Award, White Enterprise Award, Ivory Magazine, American White Journal, get it? I'm not saying that these crazy ideas are right, I'm saying why do we have any that are black biased. Why does it have to be African-American and not just American? By the late 1700's, only a tiny fraction of slaves came from Africa. Truth be known, most Blacks have deeper American roots than a lot of Whites. Look; drop the hypenated title, cancel all the entertainment junk that promotes one particular race, abolish any agency that sole interest is promoting one race based on color and let's all be REAL Americans OR stop the complaining if every race decides to define themselves as loudly as yours. I think the Civil War was about 142 years ago.

I'm not sure but I would bet you are even more ignorant than you're letting on. This is a prime example of the small mindedness that holds our country back. Why should they say they are sorry. How many slaves are alive today and how many people are alive that had slaves. I did not own slave and my father did not own slaves and his father did not own slaves. Should everyone through out history that made people slaves say they are sorry. Look at Roman how many slaves did they have. Look in the Bible and see how many Jews were slaves. Blacks were not the only one in the world that were made slaves. I say that if you want to live in the past then everyone could find someone to hate.
At least the blacks were made slaves. Look what happened to the Indians. Their land was stolden the they were killed. Shot like wild animals. If the blacks and whites do not get over this color isuue and start think of everyone as humans then we are all damed.

I would say a resounding YES!!! GA should apologize for it's institutionalized role in slavery.

But I lived in GA for 8 years and the Good Ol'boy network there is rampant. These guys will never, and I mean NEVER let a resolution pass in the house demanding an apology for slavery.

You have to understand, every year in Atlanta, the KKK still march down Peachtree and GA is a very racially polarized state still.

Every Hillbilly and Redneck in the state will start crawling out of the woodworks raising pure HELL if this should happen.
