Caterpillar workers authorize strike if needed

we have been down this road before at our cat plant in england work to rule etc etc etc but when push comes to push nobody will go on strike here what you going on srike for we know nothink about it over here we had a live link up with you lot last week about certain 3 partys up for sale etc heard nothink since do you lot know

OK The fundamentals of a market economy withstanding, why would you strike for any reason in a recession and current federal stance with Unions like what is going on now in the US? It all seems kind of stupid and ill thought out to me. I am not what you would call a “Union Person” at all,, in fact I would say that I am a “Anti Union” person if I was going to categorize myself in such a manner, but all that aside why would you pull a Bonner like this? This is the mother of all bad ideas and it benefits only the Union Elite,,, It’s the rank and file that will suffer for it if it happens,,, Just my 2 cents

[the union is only there for a back up and if you need them if you want to strike strike we do it different in UK BUT I LIKE WORKING FOR CAT I HAVE BEEN FOR 19 YEARS

For all of you bashing the union if you worked for the company you'd see just how bad they treat their employees and dislike anything that's not a machine. for you in England and other countries if they could pay you less and less, They would. Those jobs over there were ours, but the fat cats trying to get fatter for what reason. Those assholes ruined our economy and they'll ruin yours just give them time. That company is a union itself and trying to get more from us but I don't expect you to understand cause you don't sound very educated.They'll phuck you every chance they get you'll see!!!!

Where’s Obama? He’s suppose to help create jobs, well he needs to step in here and help keep this company from moving over seas. Someone needs to write, or call the white house and let them know this is happening, they might help. They may not know this is going down, so let them know.

Why are you expressing yourself like that,which illinois plants are you talking about, Cat hasn't even been in LaGrange that long, and that place is mainly all new hires from the Greenbriar sale,those people were hired in at !4.30 a hour. There not making no $18.00 a hour except maybe fore skilled trades (22.00},with benefit's.The UAW in Illinois has no power here anymore at all

LaGrange was hiring back in April 2011, skilled Trades position's to my knowledge, but the reason why was because new contact coming-up all the older guy's from the GM Legacy are retiring and getting out, no UAW anymore!To be honest the UAW is gone just like Detroit!

If you are anti union and say a job is better than no job, give your head a shake. It is a race to the bottom to see who gets the drivel that corporations are "paying". one third of the USA lives in poverty..Because corps. are driving wages lower and lower. Unions help bring wages up even in the unorganized labor force. Without a union, you have no rights as an employee. They treat you like a piece of crap as they do in countries like China, Mexico, etc.

Well said richnmo. Are you a former Cat employee? I work(ed)for Progress Rail a sub of Cat. here in London. They want us to take a 50% pay cut, no pensions,and slash health benefits,etc. They locked us out Dec.31 2011.. I would like to get in touch with anyone in Muncie, Ind..that works for these people
