Interesting case.

Hey Rogerg, if you get time go to Raleigh NC forum. Check out 2 articles, Living in Cary and Moving to Raleigh. I made some enemies I think. Some folks can not stand facts.

Normally I would have said to send the children back with her, but in this case I think the children should be allowed to stay for their own saftey. It sickens me everytime I hear about a case like this (whether the parents are illegal or legal makes no difference to me),and she deserves to loose her children. What kind of mother would allow something like this to happen to her child and not do anything about it?

How's the veggies? Apparently someone doesn't think you've got all your marbles, based on your judging! The world just keeps on spinning and the beat goes on!

Over and over again I read how family is "number one" to these people. Then I read something like this and I wonder where they get that idea. If this is any indication of how their children are treated and the Mom continues to lie for the abuser, then it's not what I call your family being "number one". This is disgusting

Veggies are just fine, note there has been nothing down here like up there. Mexico may have learned some lessons from China, a little lead poison here, a little e-coli there, some anti freeze here, PRESTO!!! No America. Load up the kids, there's land to settle.

Let's not forget the massive Nebraska Beef e-coli problem. It's apparently spreading. Glad I have my own garden and must say the tomatoes, string beens, etc. are "outstanding" this year with all the rain, rain, rain! I'd ship you some but customs would take forever if ever!

That's the truth of it. The only thing I am sure of getting from states side is books. 99% of Mexicans can't read English, so, books are usually safe in the notoriously corrupt Mexican mail system.

Hey Roger, tell us what it is like to deal with the Mexican Government Immigration system.

Hell!!!!
We have been here for three years, 4 months ago we went down to renew our FM3's, after 11 visits to the office, where they only speak Spanish, and a little modida (The Bite) to the tune of another 100 bucks we finally got it. It only took 32 days to get a stinking stamp.
This next time we will take a trip up to the border and get a visa, 25 bucks for 6 months and some Jimmy Dean Sausage. Chorizo tastes like shlt.

On a lighter note go to youtube and look for Bee Boy Dance. It's KurlKrap. Now we know what he's been doing at the clinic every day. He's the lead dancer with only one wing! That's one of the funniest youtube I think I've seen! Now as to the English, aren't they required to learn it too? Put your foot down!

FM3 is a visa for non tourists and if you come to Mexico for any reason other then short term you must get one. If you work here you need not only a FM3 but prove that what you are doing meets certain qualifications and you won't displace a Mexican, pretty slim pickens there. That you will in no way become a burden to the state, there goes wic, section 8 housing, food stamps etc. If you have a child that needs to go to school, thats another 500 bucks a semester plus anything they might need, pencils, paper, lunch, etc.. If per chance the child doesn't speak Spanish, oh well, you can always find a special school for more bucks.
After 3 years you qualify for an FM2, a little more money and then after 2 years of that you can apply for citizenship, if you haven't died or moved on by then.
Just an added note; these guy's are as upset about NAFTA as we are.

Gee, it all sounds just so...so.... ANTI IMMIGRANT! Do you think the Ford Foundation would fund the American-Mexican Legal Defense Fund in Mexico City?

The 8th grade is mandatory here but many don't get that far anyway and some that do, like many in the USA, are just passed to allow room for the next batch. Most can read and many go to collage, the town I live in has 5 collages.
The TV you watch has color thanks to a Mexican. There are many bright people here but the ones that leave are usually the lower rungs on the ladder.

Well then forget about that idea, we will just have to reduce their influence here in the USA.
