I ask the people of Palmer Township to ask themselves do we need a Fire Commissioner. The answer is NO. Since Mr. Grube became the Fire Commissioner there has been nothing but conflicts, members leaving and uproars of him doing what ever he pleases and what's not best for the Department. The Volunteer fire services does not work when you have a man as Mr. Grube running your organization his inability to manage and operate the department has the membership falling apart. This department can not keep going at this state and will not work until the Township steps in and understands the magnitude of the problems. I am asking the Township of Palmer to step in and fix this problem its only a matter of time before we lose more members. We only have 3 Fire Officers because of Mr. Grube, they all left. This Department is in Extreme Danger not having the proper amount of officers. First you can not operate a Safe Fire Scene with 3 Officers and second its only a matter of time before some gets injured or killed. We are tired of him. He doesn't care what we have to say and it's his way and that’s it. We have members that can take his place that will do it on a Volunteer basis it does not need to be Paid Position. The Township can review the Volunteer Chiefs Position on a yearly basis and this will not only solve the issue between the Paid Fire Commissioner and Volunteers but it was also save the residents and Township thousands of dollars a year.
The proper fireground span of control is 5 firefighters for every officer. That's a total of 18 personnel at a scene, what's the problem?

FDNY works with that many, if you have a worker you're going to call out other whackers anyway.

Sounds like the guy is getting rid of all the deadbeats.

The only people Grube is chasing off is those that don't scuff the knees of their pants by getting on them. If the people of Palmer knew half the crap Grube pulls they would lynch him

Sometimes less is better. It dont turn into a typical PA fire scene cluster F$&k. Palmer sucks anyway,Your a parade department! Dont get me wrong here, Your officers are pricks, But stop wanting to be such a big time department. Whats the volume there, less than 400 im sure.

Thank God my homeowners insurance has sinkhole coverage. Most don't and you have to pay extra for a rider to cover property damage by a sinkhole.
Imagine paying out of pocket - Try getting a loan.

We dont cry when our leadership fails because our leadership is professionally chosen and we follow as should all. Quit your crying and clip your scanner on your beltloop, get back to the drivethru and make my burger and wait for the big spill, large fries with that also!

Well you must be from a department in Lehigh County. Everyone knows that Palmer Municipal is the showcase department in Northampton County. Heck, they don't even put new apparatus in service for months until the Fire Commissioner's private mechanic is available to mount equipment to the rig. Now that's a kick in the crotch to his own guys if he doesn't think they are competent enough to mount tools. If only the taxpayers knew how their money was really being spent.

<quoted text>No its because our Members marry their Cousins and also leave their wife to become an Asst Chief.
Lets clarify that, they leave their wife to move back home with mom and dad to live in Palmer again to become Asst. Chief (residency clause). The Fire Commissioner needs his little boys as close as possible. Heck he had a $19000 security camera system installed in the stations so he can watch HIS station, HIS equipment, and HIS men (or boys) from home. It sounds like he doesn't trust them or is he just paranoid of some kind revolt. Wait... who's equipment and station is it really, HIS or the taxpayers?
