Enough already!! How are these kids supposed to get through school. The state system gives so little help. I have one child at kutztown and one in private college. If Kutztown would hire staff (not teachers they are great) that know what they are doing they would waste alot less money! The financial aid department looses our paperwork every year.

Yeah,I absolutely agree. Isn't what we already pay enough? I love how Kutztown requires students to pay for parking. And it's $50 a year! And the best part is, there are NEVER any parking spots. And the biggest slap in the face is having to pay for our own scantrons for tests... they're only 10 cents. Come onnn. |

Pittsburgh Univ. students pay hundreds to park their car. 50.00 is a bargain.
Actually, parking is $25.00/semester or $40.00/year. |

OK, it is going up by about the inflation rate. Try more than double that at Penn State. Tuition is more than double, too. So you can be instructed by a Graduate Assistant in a class of 250 kids.

yea and at drexel you pay $300 a semester for parking, so quit your whining...granted it's not a public school, but it could be a lot worse
Actually, no, I just paid for it, and it was $50. Regardless, you're focusing on the wrong issue. |
If you wanna play that game, I think you're the one who'll lose in the end considering when it's all said and done we both have a degree and the same job making the same money. Only difference will occur in about 5 years when I'm done paying off my loans and you have another 15 or so years to go. |

You brought it up and I took those figures from the KU web page. The tuition for instate undergraduates this fall is $2,679.00. Add the fees and the price goes to $3,562.00. This is about as good of a deal that an undergraduate at a four year university can get. |
I'm sure you mean in Pennsylvania. You can pay LESS for out of state tuition at some other state schools (in other states). In fact, this a major gripe at PSU. Other "state" schools get big state subsidies and are far cheaper. I agree, though, that the 14 state universities are a pretty good deal in comparison to others in PA. |

Not only in PA; check out NJ's in-state tuition & fees is way higher:$6,284 / semester at TCNJ, Rowan is over $5,000/semester. The PA state system universities are an outright bargain. The only way they could cost less is by raising taxes so the state could subsidize more of the cost.
We're lucky.
