Lawmaker's anti-gay comments attract attention

Truth is not only twisted by untruth, tt is also twisted by hatred. It is a Christian duty to not only speak the truth, but to speak it in love. God condemns homosexuality as a sin, but He also has forgiveness, hope, life and joy in Jesus Christ - His Love - to those that repent. When the professing Christian speaks hatefully of another person, they break Christ's commandment to love our neighbor, to love our enemies, to speak the truth in love that the sinner might be convinced of both their wrongness against God and the love of God towards them.

Frank, it is so refreshing to see a preson who is not only knowledgeble but eleoquent in his beliefs. One of a precious few I have read on here. Most of what I have read is rehoritc spooned out by the intolerant hate mongering uneducated branch of The Faith. Please spread your teachings of tolerance and forgivness. This is what Jesus would do.

I agree with Representative Kern's statements. This is not hate speech. Throughout history, societies that became apathetic toward the moral standards all fell into ruin. Internal decay of a society weakens that society and makes them vulnerable to external threats.

Your comments is getting a bit redundent. If you really knew how Oklahomans were maybe you wouldn't be so narrow-minded. It doesn't happen only here it happens in New Jersey too. Ada, ah Ada. I remember being at a church meeting there in 1992. A lot of people were gathered around Bill Peterson, the then district attorney. All those devout Christians laughing their guts out after he would tell jokes like - how do you give a ngr an abortion? You drag her behind your truck.

Open Letter to Sally the Bigot

As a gay man in Oklahoma where I pay both property taxes and income taxes, I demand that you refund ten percent of your salary to the gays in this state.

Your bigoted butt wants to spew hate and claim some paranoid delusion about a gay agenda, well then stop taking our money. Oh but you're a hypocrite aren't you? You'll take the gay money in your legislator's paycheck and run. You'll force us to pay taxes that supports your former teacher's salary and pension and to educate children you won't allow us to parent or adopt.

This explains, in part, Sally's ranting diatribe about homosexuals and their threat to our Nation's security. Perhaps some counseling and/or PFLAG meetings would help her deal with her own gay son? It's perfectly normal to feel repulsed by certain thoughts/acts, but not to the degree that one attributes a threat to national security to them!!!

To the gay and lesbians, I, a Christian, a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, bound to His Holy Word, God's Word, love you with the love of the Lord. I do not agree with your opinions or your lifestyle, in fact, I feel you are deceived just as all of us are at one time or another in life. But it is true, I cannot judge you, the Word does tell us to judge the fruit and in my understanding of scripture, the fruit is tainted and much deception is taking place. But I do, with all my heart love you with God's love and please understand that to love you does not mean that I have to agree with you. I am bound by Jesus words to love my neighbor as myself. You are my neighbor just as prostitutes, thieves, adulterers are... I don't agree with their choices and in my understanding, sin... but I do love them. How has it come to pass that we can no longer state our opinions about what we like and don’t like or agree with or disagree with without our statements being dubbed “hate speech�? What happened to the freedom and right to stand up and say “Hey, I don’t think homosexuality is right.� without someone telling me I’m speaking hate? I should be able to say I don’t like or disagree with anything or anyone I want. Whether that be someone with blond hair, a Baptist, a Catholic, a soldier, a politician, my next door neighbor, a lesbian, a chiropractor, or the most recent block buster hit. By me saying I don’t like the Baptists doesn’t mean I want to kill them all, have them annihilated, rage war against them, or shun them from public eating places. If I say I don’t agree with the Catholics it doesn’t mean that I’m going to blow up their places of worship and snub my nose at every Nun I see. When I say I don’t like the homosexual lifestyle it’s the same way. I’m not saying anything hateful about them. I don’t hate them. I don’t want them hurt or dead. I just simply don’t want to be one. I’m not going to donate money to their cause, I’m not going to buy books about them and teach my children how to “experiment� with their lifestyle. Is this hate speech? How? Someone please explain this to me! If you are a homosexual you will be treated no differently by me than anyone else will be. If I see you being attacked on the street I will not turn my back, I will come to your aid, if I see you being treated unfairly at the grocery store I will ask why, if you are called names in front of me I will show my disapproval of the other person’s ugliness. I think the senator was right on! None of her comments are hate, but the truth. The gay people know that their lifestyle is unnatural. They are reacting to their conscience.

INSIGNIFICANT/ SUPERSIGNICANT: straight supremacists will treat gay people as if they are insignificant or supersignificant. Example of insignificant treatment: gay people deserve AIDS. Example of supersignificant treatment: gay people are destroying society.

DIFFERENT RULES: straight supremacists will apply different rules to gay people than straight.

People are not just attracted to anyone... it is a NATURAL thing to be drawn to a persons pheremones. And people ARE born gay. Sure some may choose to sleep with someone of the same sex, but that doesn't mean that they are in fact gay. I don't think that there would be ads for strictly gays if we weren't shunned by so many. We just want a place where we can be ourselves and not have to worry about the looks and the comments. If you don't want to accept me then that's fine, I would just like to live my life in peace like so many others. I would also hope that somewhere in the future people will not judge gays as a whole, but as individual people. I know we have gotten past the point of labeling race. I think that blaming something on a particular group of people as a whole is ridiculous.
