You can bet your next meal that the DHS director isn't going to cut his grocery budget.

I do home health visits to elderly people, many whom rely upon meals on wheels for their main meal as they are unable to cook for themselves or leave their home to go to the grocery store. This cut would be drastic to their health and welfare.

Can we expand Gamling to address this problem.
Gamling has really helped Oklahoma Public Schools.
Or, gave big raises to the leaders at dhs.
Maybe, have dozens and dozens of meetings around the State
to study the problem and then have more meetings.
Cut funds to Schools, Elders, Veterans, Children and
hire more superintendents, and give raises to wasteful agencies.
Maintain waste - not Elders, Vets, Schools, Children.
That's the Oklahoma Way!

I'm so sick of people complaining about "welfare" like it's this magical thing anyone can get on and stay on for the rest of their lives. You are only allowed to be on TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families—were none of you schooled on the welfare reform of the 90s??) for five years EVER. A HUGE percentage of people on TANF are elderly women whose husbands have passed on—not "young people" looking for a way to cheat the system. And, hello, if you know where all these jobs are right now, maybe you should be spreading the word instead of complaining about something you don't know enough about.

Don't stop at the capitol seniors...they (DHS) can cut senior nutrition funding whenever they want. We need to petition our legislature to form a Aging Agency that receives the funding for senior nutrition and that is the only thing it can be used for. Control needs to be taken away from DHS and Mr. Hendricks in regard to senior funding. They (DHS) thought raises for themselves was more important than you.

TANF is not for elderly widows, but benefits for minor children who are not financially supported by one or both parents due to the parent's: death, absence, incapacitation, incarceration, unemployment ect...
You are talking about Social Security benefits for those adults who are widowed, or perhaps minor children who have one or both parents deceased, also qualify for Social Security benefits.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Cancer

You could struggle to display your feelings and emotions at the moment. Being so sensitive, the smallest things could hurt your feelings, but no one else is likely to realise since you retreat into your shell at these times. This will not be a conscious decision, and you'll feel frustrated at your inability to explain the hurt you suffer.
