It took quite a while for that "clinton Boom" to take effect.
And it wa not the practice, or caused by truickle down.
The primary cause was the return to stability of the bond markets, and President Clinton's steady communication with the American public.
In fact, things were so bas after Reagan/ BushI that Cinton had to forgo his promised tax cut for the middle class (just as BushI has to go against his "read my lips" NO NEW TAXES promise.)
The real reason for Clinton's economic success was his top-shelf team, meeting every chalange with a pragmatic solution (not idiology) and direct communication with the American people.
Trickle down uses 'borrow and spend' to pay for government until the result of the trickle down rolls in. Unfortunately, it never does 'roll in' so we are left with huge national debts.

You left out some important stats Approximately 125 million people in the united states receive a government check. Many have one way or another earned it, 2.8 million are military and dependents, 54 million are social security recipients, 11 million are federal employees, that leaves 57 million receiving a check as a gift. Nearly half the nation lives in a household where someone in the household receives a government check. |

Not entirely true. Clinton's tax policies did play a part. His little stunts were not working too well, so he finally decided to take a tip from Newt and lower capital gains taxes, and that's what led the great economy. Tax cuts combined with the technology boom is what was responsible for the economy at the time. The beginning was after the leadership change in Congress led by Newt Gingrich. A balanced budget, a projected surplus, plus a strong economy made those years profitable ones for many Americans. Like any bubble, nothing lasts forever. |

How did liberals destroy the education system. GWB started No Child Left Behind which was the basis for incredible failure including test cheating by school administrators in order to keep up with outrageous standards. Like everything else George Bush did, NCLB was a dismal failure. Politicians have no business being involved in education. |
