Common Sense wrote: <quoted text> Interesting point about the SEIU and other organizations. It really makes you stop and wonder when all the polls say that a huge bi-partisan majority supports photo id, but these groups like the SEIU and some Dem politicians the article spoke of are up in arms opposing it...maybe there has been more fraud in the past than has been uncovered. They look very suspicious if they oppose something the public is agreeing with. Public polling vastly supported health care reform back in 09 (including support for the "public option" - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/21/health/poli... ), yet the Republicans opposed it. By your logic, their opposition should be viewed with suspicion.

Talk about burying the lede. I bet you also think all polling is suspect, unless it agrees with your preconceived notions.

Whereas before now, you could have brought an alternate form of ID. The BMV will give your, FOR FREE, a card updating your new address to present along with your DL as proof of your new address. The catch is that you must personally value your right to vote sufficiently to get off your butt and go get it.

the intent of this is to prevent voter fraud, not to prevent certain folks from voting. therefore, it isn't a poll tax. if anything that costs me money (to vote) is a poll tax, then everyone who drives to vote is assessed a poll tax.
...side note: does anyone thing that maybe instead of making fun of the particular news channels we watch (which are all propaganda, but Fox has hotter chicks), maybe, just maybe, we could focus on the dopes we've elected who constantly ruin our country?
