Here's an easier solution, take yourself off the blogsite. We're not hurting you (or are we troll?) so buzz off.

My Dear brothers and sisters,
I have found the Pearl of Great Price!
Actually, I have found several: Oakland Place. The Jersey Shore. My dinner table. A great bottle of Scotch that none of you could possibly afford. Then there are my cigars - pearls beyond price!
But the greatest treasure is this diocese! The bills will now go down because so many churches are closed (thank you Reg-EYE-na for a job well done) and so your money can now be spent on maintaining the buildings that actually benfit us . I mean, benefit the diocese. My residence is a prime example. The seminary is another great example. Heck, we have not enough priests to staff the churches which is why we closed so many but we need to pump millions into the seminary! It builds the egos of our already ordained who feel so important there and besides someday we may have an influx of seminarians waiting in line to be priests. You understand don't you? It was a choice we had to make! It doesn't have to make sense, my dear people, you just have to accept it as God's will.
And then there is the Catholic Center. We need loads of space and the great big building across from St. Louis because after all, it is too far to drive to the seminary for meetings and classes. We need to hold them downtown and obviously there is not enough room at all the closed parishes to hold these meetings, it has to be at the old Courier Express bulding. You understand, right? It doesn't have to make sense. Just accept it as the will of God.
While I'm at it, I may as well comment on my residence. Ok, it is the priciest real estate in the city of Buffalo. But Jesus died for our sins. Doesn't the successor to the apostles deserve such a place? It is used for so many fundraisers and meetings and to host dignitaries besides. We'll try and come up with a list of all the meetings, fund raisers and dignitaries we've hosted. Give us time. You understand, right? No hotels are decent for dignitaries; no rectories good enough. Can't possibly host a fundraiser at any of the rich donor's homes, no instead we host the rich at a place that costs us an arm and a leg to upkeep. But sometimes you just have to. You know what I mean? And meetings, we have meetings here. Secret meetings. Secret things that you are not privy to. Besides, we're all settled here. Some have said that I, like Cardinal O'Malley in Boston, among others, should give up my residence. My question is this: Is anything to good for God? I am only God's representative, but you are doing it for God. Boze will bless you for your generosity toward me.
Thats enough for now. I have to do some things. So, God bless you all, right? Thats it for now.
Maybe you aren't our lamebrain bishop but you have captured his persona so well. Good Job!

And I thoroughly enjoy the takeoffs on Quinny the priest even though I don't know all that much about him. They are just so well written and seem to capture his essence. Great job whoever you are! Please keep them coming.

Today parishioners at St. Teresa's in Buffalo were passing out papers to stop the nun from changing the name of their church. Bishop Kmiec didn't say they had to change their name when he made the closing announcements, but she wanted the people to change it anyway. The people were in an uproar. That would make no sense to change the name!!!! Why would people who didn't have to change their name want to change it? The letter they passed out said that only a select group of people were hand picked to be on the committee. Other people felt excluded. There have never been so many problems at St. Teresa's until Fr. Mock came. There was even a red haired lady from St. John's who felt that St. Teresa's should keep the name. All that changing the name is going to do is cause more upset and hard feelings. These people causing the trouble make St. Teresa's sound like they're doing something wrong because they were kept open. Why don't they just leave everyone alone and go find a hobby or something to occupy their time? This is getting disgusting!!!
A small group forced the name change at St. Albert the Great. It was not required by the bishop. Changing the names of churches is against canon law so they should just leave them alone. Notice they don't even call St. Clare's & St. Katherine Drexel churches in recent obits? The funerals are at St. Clare Parish etc. Regina must love that - a churchless diocese.

I don't know who all of you think that I am, but I am flattered to hear that anyone is looking at me in a positive light these days. Thank you, Dunkirk Connection.

As I write, I've just returned from my walk through the park. The day was simply beautiful. I wore my sandles and stones kept getting caught under my feet, so I decided to run barefoot through the park. It was so nice! Of course, I kept thinking of Jesus wearing sandles and how he didn't let a little stone or two in his shoe bother him. So I have decided not to let any stones in my old sandles bother me. I'm going to continue to think of myself and what is good for me, but I am going to continue to do it in a nice way.

I hope each of you enjoyed the day. You are all so wonderful and deserve some enjoyment. God bless everyone.

And so my dear friends, it is night time and as I sit here I cannot help but imagine each of you and your tremendous generosity. God is good. Indeed, very good, really. Our Catholic Chairites campaign really was not under the goal, it was over the goal because we measured it by generosity. The people of the diocese are generous and despite a few pockets of dissatisfaction with parish reconfiguration the generosity is overwhelming. Don't forget Easter was early this year! Despite Easter being early look what we did! In the history of the diocese, Easter never came early until this year. That is why every other year despite horrible economic conditions and all sorts of calamity the Catholic Charities drive never failed. Then came an early Easter. Check your calendars, Easter never comes early, only this year. So, blame it on Easter if you must, but I still got the millions needed to fund what I need funded and all is well.

Y'all are suremely generous to all of us. Love your priests, dear folks. They sacrifice so much to serve you. Canon law forbids them to celebrate three masses on a Sunday. So, you may have to drive many miles to get to a Mass, but it isn't about convenience, it is about the good Lord. You think he had it easy up there on that cross? So, when you are tempted to complain that a beautiful "worship site" that you used to call a parish church is closed and you have what you consider a hardship getting to a parish miles away, remember the hardship of Jesus. Right?

Your priests depend on your envelopes, so don't forget them. Parishes depend on your generosity. So give freely and from the heart because God expects that. Right? It doesn't matter if your pastor treats you rudely or like a piece of dirt, you're doing it for God. So, give to God and don't worry about anything else. God wants us to be well funded even though you have to sacrifice a "worship site." Even if you can't get to Mass, you can afford a postage stamp, so say your prayers at home and send in your donation. That's not too much to ask. Remember, it is for God. So do it for God, right?

Well, I have to go now and be ready for another day of serving the Lord. So, after a nightcap and Compline, I'll slumber well knowing that generosity is blossoming like so many flowers despite the two or three thorns of the very marginally few who are dissatisfied with the Journey. But, I realize I cannot please everyone, so I just do what I feel the good Lord would have me do and he would have me close "worship sites" because they were empty, including Lockport and the St. Adalbert Church that my Polish brothers and sisters called a basilica for so long, clearly in error.

So, dobra noc, goodnight and God bless.

Just a note -- the name of the church does NOT change -- the name of the merged parish changes. In Rochester they will say so-and-so is a member of St._______ Parish, worshipping at St._______ Church. It's how you know it's a merged parish.

I said I didn't MUCH about him. However, even in Dunkirk, 50 miles away, I managed to have a bit of a run-in with him a couple years ago. So the posts about him are not hard to believe. When I have more time, I'll post it.

Wills are public information? Really? Are you sure about that?
absolutely. you can go down to surrogates court with the name of the deceased (have to be deceased) and the date of death. they will pull the will (if there is one) and you can read it and copy it. freedom of info is public info

This has been disgusting for three years, its just catching up with you now. Sister Destructo will touch all our lives in the diocese sooner or later.

What name is she suggesting you change to?

We were also there and had a terrific fun-filled afternoon. It was a HUGE crowd. We have attended the Holy Trinity barbecues for years. This had to be the largest crowd ever!!! Great music, great people, great food. God bless you Holy Trinity for keeping your spirit alive in the face of adversity.

Boo, hoo, hoo. Poor St. Teresa. They got to stay open, and now they want everything to remain the same as they were before. Don't they realize how much sacrifice others have had to make. The name of the church stays the same, for heaven's sake. Give me a break. Compromise, sacrifice. You've already got everything you dreamed of -- YOU stayed OPEN. St. John loses the buildings and the community, and you want the whole enchillada!
