Checkout the info on BTC on the BKST is not too friendly. There is an investigation going on about one of the ingredients causing major problems. Just thought you might want to know.
I am using Namokeratine at the moment and testing
"Cepillo" oneapplication blowdry and iron. Done!
As soon as I get clearance for impoert I'll inform you.

So glad I read your post before purchasing...apparently this stuff is very expensive.... I am a Caucasian female with hair pretty much like Oprah's--Where can I read the story about this product that you mentioned?

Do you recommend any product for me? I have studied them all and this is a new one I have not heard of. Wow, I sure would appreciate your input and the ability to read more about the question of the product. Thanks so much.

Every salon does it in florida, but now it is very dangerous!! Don't do it banned now by many salons.
Bummer just when you thought something was perfect.

I'm a stylist from NYC and just took a class for Coppola keratin complex treatment. The amount of straigtening results depends on how curly your hair is to begin with. It is suppose to remove all frizz on every type of hair, and once your hair is blow dryed it will not frizz from the humidity. Some people get straight hair and it gradually wears/washes out. This is suppose to have no formaldahyde though it does contain "aldyahydes" which is an organic form of formaldahyde but the percentage is .005%. The FDA allows 2% so it is way under the safe amount. Global Keratin also makes a comparable product. I'm interested in the results for people (stylists or clients) who have actually used these products on a longer term basis. What does your hair look like after it washes out? Is it dry, damaged, etc??? How many treatments have you had? Can you use this repeatedly every 3-4 months to maintain the smoothness without damaging your hair. Please mention what type, texture, or hair you have to begin with. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Cat.
P.S. I am interested in what Shampoo Avenue B is doing - please contact me if you see this.

I just had the Coppola treatment done today and my throat is still burning tonight, My eyes teared during the entire process and my nostrils and throat were very irritated. This makes me highly suspicious of the ingredients as I am generally not a sensitive type of person. I really don't think I would be so fast to do it again. There are too many toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis....why ask for more trouble--for the sake of straight hair!!???

Hi I am scheduled to have the Global Keratin tomorrow morning! The salon is in Sarasota; they tested two other brands which had formaldyhde or its derivative and settled on Global Keratin which has no formaldyhde or derivative. Did the product they used on you have Formaldyhde or were you told it didn't?

Hi Maria, I am sorry to hear about your reaction.I am a stylist and have been doing my research, and have been using the Peter Coppola Keratin treatment, are you sure the salon was using the product they say they were. the reason why I ask, not that we do it in our salon, but I have seen salons say, oh, we have something like it, or just use what they may have, and tell you different. I am very sesitive to chemicals too, and have not experienced that burning, I have heard the Brazilians relaxer/straightners by other companies have experienced what you just said. Call the salon and ask,& to see the bottle, the proof maybe there.Don't let a bad experience like that from disliking, a true product that that normally is not like that, I hope I helped in someway.

Everyone who see my hair asks me how my hair got so shiny and straight and is not damage I tell them to go to Nelly at Annabelles Salon. I did not have any adverse reactions. I am very anxious to get this treatment done. I cant find a salon in my area (wayne NJ) and im not sure if it is going to be what im looking for. I had the Japanese straightner done a few years ago and i loved it. my hair would air dry pin straight which is a huge difference from my normal frizzy kinky big hair...

Is this product the same? will my hair air dry straight .... can i bleach my hair with this product?(highlights etc)

any advice would be greatly appreciated...

not sure if ill find this message board again.. if someone could email me with some helpful info at adidio1984@yahoo.com that would be great. thanks!

Hi Sherry,

Our company sells one particular brand of the Brazilian Keratin Treatment and to be able to obtain the promised results (as far as we know) the product must contain formol (formaldehyde in a solution 10% water)- Description: Formol is a organic chemical product, with aldehyde function. Therefore all BRAZILIAN KERATIN TREATMENTs have formol. But, not all companies like to disclose this information.
We are very honest about the components in our product. It has formol, and when you purchase the product we send explanations and info. regarding safety issues. We only sell to licensed professionals. If you need to contact us to learn more, we will be happy to answer your questions.

I don't think that anyone was more sceptical than me. I have been researching various different straightening and or conditioning treatments for two years. I have very thick, curly, virgin hair and I had the Peter Coppola treatment. No fumes,or harsh odors before or after the process.

This website was part of my research prior to getting the treatment. I had it done last week at Anabelle's salon in NYC. She was honest and professional. Explained the process step by step and measured the product right in front of me (braziliankeratin by Marcia Texeira). My hair is amazing. I will never relax it again. I live in Atlanta but will fly to NYC just so that Nelly can do my hair. I didn't experience any fumes, burning eyes, etc. The comments are a nice way to gather information but just like surgery, you have to do your homework, research the product, interview the stylist and only do it if you feel totally comfortable with the whole picture.
