She should be removed for not doing her job and for the comment she made in the ca on March 14th.She do not respect the family of murded vitims and she is unfit to run that office.

She does not prosecute CHILD ABUSE OR CHILD ENDANGERMENT CASES. She will NOT ask for sentences to the fullest extend of the law. i.e. Recently in the District Court in Roswell, the District Attorney’s Office recommended a 60-day sentence for a woman who pleaded to a second-degree felony of Distributing a Controlled Substance (heroin).

The assistant district attorney explained that he made the right recommendation because the woman only sold drugs to pay for her own habit and she needed to be home to take care of her 4-year-old granddaughter … Pardon me? Do you really want that type of leadership in the 5th Judicial Court District??

If you are a Republican voter in the 5th judicial district, do not be fooled by Hicks' latest smoke screen of attacking Ellis on the issue of gay marriage. The issue is not relevant to the office of district attorney and has no place in the debate. She cannot stand on her own record and is resorting to personal attacks.

Janet Ellis has real solutions to the problems created by Hicks in the past three years.

Problem: Employees have run through the office like it's a sieve. 53 out of 60 gone. Current employees feel threatened and feel they lack job security. Solution: No furloughs. If so much money is being saved by going paperless, perhaps those savings should be spent on employees rather than new cars, blackberries, cars, and new chairs. Also, don't throw away the employees stuff as the self-appointed "design nazi" (Hick's own words). Problem: DA's don't respect or work well with DA's office. Solution: with better job stability, recruit and keep attorneys instead of losing 53/60 employees. End ofcr prosecution. The officers sued over this, so clearly it's a PR nightmare. Misdemeanors are also dismissed right and left - DA's office conviction rate on that consists of felonies pled down to misd. Empower attorneys to work their own cases instead of micromanaging everything... this list could go on and on, but these suggestions are just a start. No wonder Hicks is blowing smoke and waving her "good friend" the governor around. Standing on her own record will get her nowhere.

I gotta say, at the Republican Women's Meeting, Janetta Hicks was classless and accusatory. She railed against Hicks on gay marriage in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner. Hicks' classy, cool-headed and direct response won my vote instantly.

This DA race has no stock in the Gay Marriage issue but as Republicans, we need to welcome EVERYONE to our Party--even Gays, Lesbians and non-Christians. Trust me when I tell you that they are already in the Republican Party in very large numbers.

What do we tell the Log Cabin Republicans?!?? This grassroots REPUBLICAN organization staffed offices for McCain during 08. They are here, queer and Republican to the core. Do we just forget them? Maybe we just keep them in the closet and don't ask or tell.

Vote Ellis for fair, ethical NON-PARTISAN performance as DA.

Yes. Janetta tried to tell people not to vote for Ellis. Her exact words were..."Unlike my opponent, I do not believe in gay marriage."

This entire campaign, Hicks has talked in circles and tried to levy personal attacks against Ellis. Hicks does this because she knows she cannot stand on her own record. Case in point...

Randolph Breckon pulled a gun on his two young children. He was originally charged with negligent use of a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The first charge is a petty misdemeanor punishable by no more than 6 months in jail. The aggravated assault is a fourth degree felony punishable by up to 18 months in jail.

The felony was dismissed. He was convicted of the petty misdemeanor. He is now out of jail. Under the Hicks administration a man can point a gun at his children and walk away only being convicted of a petty misdemeanor. He also has his kids back, however that is a CYFD matter.

This is the kind of criminal prosecution we are getting under Hicks.

Sorry, I picked the wrong case. That was a prior weapons case against Breckon that was not under Janetta's administration. I apologize for that error.

The case I was referring to Breckon was charged with two counts of abandonment or abuse of a child.
He pled no contest to both of them. He is still out of jail. I cannot imagine he magically changed his plea without some promise of a deal.

Again, I apologize with the inaccuracies of my previous post concerning Randolph Breckon.

I agree with everything said here so far. What Ellis or Hicks feel about gay marriage has nothing to do with the DA's scope of authority. I'm against gay marriage but I still think this was an unprofessional low blow on Hicks' part.
