why does the governor feel it is the state's responsibility to provide insurance for children? There is Medicaid for stupid people who have kids that they cannot afford to take care of.
Also, if the state is going to support children their parents should be "fixed" so they don't have any more kids that we the taxpayers have to support

Amen brother. I hate seeing people roll up to the store in Navagators and dump $300 worth of groceries on their welfare cards.

That nonsense happens more times than not. Ever taken a look at the vehicles people have living in section 8 housing?

It's difficult enough supporting my own kids let alone some broke, lazy welfare mom with four kids who should have had her tubes tied at age 19.

Yes, I'm talking to YOU welfare mom with your EBT card in your purse!

I hope it eats you alive knowing that you are a parasite of society.

Hey how about you goes after DEADBEAT parents to help out with medical insurance. If DEADBEATS would get off their DEAD A55 then maybe there wouldnt be a legistative issue on health insurance.
I am glad I have medical coverage through my work then I dont have to worry about medicaid and all of the state BS and red tape you have to go through.

When is King Bill going to figure out this is OUR money he is spending. I am sick and tired of the government taking my money to support socialism! If you want your children to have health insurance then you get a job with benefits, simple enough. If not then you do without. Sad for the children to find out their parents are losers. It's about personal responsibility, something that is sorely lacking in today’s world.

Nice to see how upset everyone is over puppy abuse and pleased about the firing of the person who did it - But, kids with no insurance through no fault of their own....too bad

We're not supporting the puppy. Why should we support someone else's kids for health insurance? We have our own kids to pay for, we don't need the added burden of some else's kids too.

This is just a continuing effort on the part of the breaded one to provide health care for the illegals.

Since he knows he can't provide care for all of Mexico he is still trying to at least cover the children of the illegals because these kids are probably now legal U.S. citizens born of illegal parents.

How can an illegal mother convey legal status to her kids?

They need to put a time limit on all the housing people. We are crippling these people by giving them free food free housing free health insurance free money to last them. Pretty soon they will get a gas voucher for thier
Navagtor you know the one with crome wheels that keep spining even when they are at a dead stop. Why would they want to work?

Lets get puppy insurance instead! I think the best part is that parents will have to show proof that their kids are insured before they start school. While they are at it, lets have the parents show citizenship, and if they are illegals, send the whole bunch back to mexico, or where ever...
Scruffy Billy is doing something again to make himself look good at the cost to the taxpayers.
Nice...

Forcing people to buy/have insurance. I thought education was so important that you would want to remove barriers to attending rather than adding (showing proof of insurance when registering). And what about those who for reason of conscience or religious belief do not want health insurance. There are even those who "self Insure" or pay out of pocket at places like St@tMed (which doesn't take insurance and sets reasonable fees). Being alive is now seen as a privilege (like driving) and requires insurance? Are they going to do what they do with Medicare? They force patients and providers to use and accept the insurance. If a provider accepts out of pocket from a medicare patient he loses the ability to see any other medicare patients. In order to legally accept an out of pocket fee for services, a provider must "opt out" of Medicare. This involves filling out affidavits and forms which need Medicare's approval. If approved (to accept out of pocket and not use medicare insurance) the provider is "punished" by not being able to submit any Medicare claims (except in an emergency) on any Medicare patient for 2 full years. Especially when it comes to mental illness, some want to pay out of pocket in order to avoid having their confidential information on file. Insurance companies use that info to set rates or refuse insurance. Are they going to demand that all providers accept the insurance? Which means that the State will be overseeing usage? My guess is it won't be like auto insurance where you can decide to not make a claim and pay for repairs out of pocket. If you bring a child to a Doctor, they are going to ask for insurance and when you say you want to pay cash...watch out. That is where the trouble will begin. Child Abuse? Imprisonment? Fines? Will providers be able to take cash/out of pocket payment for services and not file a report/insurance? Scary stuff this.

I pay a whopping $1,200 per month for my health insurance. It is not easy. I pay a whopping $1,100 for rent for me and my two children (single parent household). I don't and wouldn't want to qualify for any freebees but somehow things are unfair. Until last year, I am the one who drove the 15 year old car, NOT the Navigator. Let's do something to help the middle class. The ones falling in that "free" and "low income" category already have too much.
