At least it was a nice day for a smoke outside Saturday, the first day of a New Jersey law banning indoor smoking in most public places.

Philadelphia will benefit by New Jersey's ban on smoking areas!
The city bars and restaurant's that allow choice, will accommadate both sides of this issue. These are not public areas, but privately owned business's which are open to the public by invitation.

Hmmm perhaps think about the people who get cancer every year because they are forced to inhale someone elses smoke or leave the place they are at because some people choose to kill themselfs slowly

At least think about the kids

That's why they offered smoking or non smoking areas. But I do think of the children. But whatever, I will just have to suffer through my meals without one, which is a good thing, because I am trying to quit right now anyway.

OH PLEASE!! how easy we are to cover for something we know we shouldn't be doing anyway!! If you want to smoke (which is inhaling a drug) do it in your own presence by yourself and don't be so quick to be free in doing the wrong things so openly!!(We use to hide to do something bad,now we think we have the right and can do it where ever and when ever we want and not think of others or the consequenses of our actions.

I am a smoker. I know the dangers of it, yet am addicted to it. Have tried to get off of them by patches, acupuncture, hypnotism. Nothing has worked.
I will never be told not to smoke on my own property inside or outside. They will have to put me in jail first.
I had an aunt die of lung cancer and never smoked. Dana Reeves just died of lung cancer and never smoked.
I feel if you have that cancer gene you will get it no matter what.
I am not stupid enough to believe that health problems do not arise from smoking.
I do think that instead of awarding people all that big money from tobacco companies when the people knew that smoking was bad for them is ridiculous.
I think the tobacco companies who know what is in the cigarettes to get us addicted should be made to give us what is needed to get unadicted.
OK, I got that off my chest.

Gary are you REALLY that stupid>?

My aunt's best friend was forced to inhale her father's smoke all her life untill she moved at the age of 20

For 20 years... yup he smoked when she was a new born... she inhaled smoke

She died of lung cancer, she herself never smoked a day in her life.... The doctor told her... her fathers second hand smoke killed her

FFS do some research as well you will see there are many cases you moron

http://www.lungusa.org/site/pp.asp...

Secondhand smoke causes approximately 3,000 lung cancer deaths and 35,000-62,000 heart disease deaths in adult nonsmokers in the United States each year

WAKE UP!

It should only be illegal to smoke in resturaunts whos gross income is > 40% from food sales. NY has a similar law I believe and it seems to be working well. Smoking should not be banned in bars, thats bulls--**. Smoking should not and never will be banned in casinos. This government is out of control. JasonP, this is your generation in office right now, the ones who are really f'ing up our society. So dont go ranting and blaming all our society's problems on the youth. Rather than concentrate on the real problems and what needs to be fixed in the world, our government is busy passing bills against steroids in baseball, smoking laws, abortion, other stupid Bullsh--**. Our goverment is a bunch of a-holes and I am fed up! Religion in politics really messed this country up!

[Smokers wouldn't have these problems if they weren't so rude and inconsiderate. They smoke around children, they smoke in common areas of restaurants where people are waiting for non smoking seating. This was law was long overdue and the threat of driving smokers away is nonsense. Now nonsmokers will come out, more than replacing the smoking population. Reastaurants and business in LA and NY have increased their customer base under these laws.]

No one with any kind of brain could possibly argue that smoking is good for them or anyone surrounding a them. The fact is that no business has suffered by banning smokers. However, if smokers didn't insist they have this stupid right to smoke everywhere they want... people wouldn't have pushed these laws through. Smokers with their nasty habit killed this themselves.

Talking about disgusting..... smokers blow smoke in closed rooms, put cigarettes out in plates, cups, and bowls in restaurants.... Put butts in recycle cans... Dumb smokers think flinging a butt is not littering... They cause forest fires.... fires in homes... by sleeping smokers... These pigs never clean up after themselves.... And they should be arrested for child abuse driving in cars with all the windows closed and an infant in a car seat... forced to suffer.
