Judged: 4 4 2 "He had a chance to do the right thing, and failed miserably," If the Legislature cannot find the courage to override the veto, the lawsuit filed challenging the civil union scheme ought to do the trick. Marriage in New Jersey is an inevitability and Christie is on the wrong side of history. |

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? |
Judged: 4 3 3 That's always the answer with you gays...go whining to the courts, wasting taxpayer dollars, clogging the judicial system. Christie DID do the right thing. Hes upholding the will of the people which is part of his job. Deal with it. |

Judged: 4 3 3 This isnt a rights issue, they already have rights. They can marry anyone they want according to the laws as it is written. |

Judged: 3 3 3 Clearly they cannot. They can only marry those who people like you deem acceptable to marry. That's a far cry from being able to marry anyone they want. |

Judged: 4 3 2 If the "will of the people" is to violate the guarantee of equal protection under the law as found in both the New Jersey and US Constitutions, a right same sex couples in the state have already been extended by the way, then the "will of the people" and their Governor are sadly mistaken. This is one of the reasons why the courts exist in our system of governance, to ensure that the rights of the people are respected by the other branches of the government. Don't like it, too bad, learn to deal with it. |

Judged: 2 2 1 "The People" as a whole are ignorant. "The People" as a whole didn't want an end to Slavery or equal rights for Women or Minorities. "The People" as a whole care little for what is correct, and need to be told as such. Christie's job is to uphold the Constitution, and remind his constituents that their "will" is in direct opposition to said Constitution. |

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? |
Judged: 4 3 2 That's because you people manage to cherry pick liberal activists fake judges sympathetic to your cause. You better hope Santorum doesnt win.. he vows to push for a Congressional ammendment to ban gay marriages altogether. |

Judged: 4 4 4 Gee, the exact same argument that was made in defense of Virginia's "Racial Purity Law" in the case of Loving v Virginia. I wonder how that worked out for them? |

Judged: 4 4 3 And on this score you would be very sadly mistaken. See: Lewis v. Harris, 188 N.J. 415; 908 A.2d 196 (N.J. 2006) Retreading the argument used in defense of Virginia's "Racial Purity Law", see previous above. My sentiments exactly, you were done even before you started. |

Judged: 2 2 1 But we're not going to win every battle. Instead of putting so many resources into winnig the battle in every one of the 50 states (or "57 states" as The Obamaniac would say), we would be better off fighting in the federal courts to rule that FFC DOES apply to gay marriages, and\or gay marriage IS protected by the U.S. Constitution. I don't think the day is tat far off when we will get those rulings, but we'll get them faster I tink if we put our efforts in securing federal recognition instead. |
