Recently the NH Firearms Coalition was made aware that Chief William 'Bill' Hart, Chief of Police in Londonderry, NH was violating NH State law relative to the issuance of pistol licenses as well as the Second Amendment of the US Constitution.

Hart had to know of the violation as he was a prosecutor in Derry, NH before joining the Londonderry Police Department. It should be noted that Hart had some ethical issues brought against him legally while in that position.

Hart was requiring photo documentation of 'who you are' in direct violation of NH law, which states: "No photograph shall be required,"

Hart also stated licenses would be issued or denied in 14 "business days" not the 14 calendar days allowed by statute.

To get your license, Hart was also requiring an additional form be signed, also not permitted under state law.

The NH Firearms Coalition took action to stop his abuse of power. JR Hoell, Board Member and Secretary of NHFC, scheduled a meeting with the Selectmen and informed the town of the violations of the law. Hart, however, seems to have ethical issues as the Londonderry Chief of Police as well.

What a sick joke:

Londonderry Police Mission

The mission of the Londonderry Police Department is to improve the quality of life in our community by working in partnership with our citizens.

What this really means is: to hide evidence, beat innocent people and then charge them with resisting arrest, destroy evidence, lie under oath, violate civil and constitutional rights, use male officers to search females, abuse and treat citizens with disdain, keep officers on the force who beat their wives and then use the chief to hide it from the citizens, put poorly trained officers on patrol, continue to keep officers with numerous complaints against them on the force, finally; make William Hart a man with no ethics, no respect for people, a liar and cover-up artist who is a moron the Chief of the Londonderry Police.

Great Police Force; akin to the members of the LAPD, you remember; the ones who beat Rodney King.

My wife and I recently applied for our carry permits in Londonderry, NH. We are both 49 years old with no arrests in our lives. Not even traffic violations. For both of us, this is a renewal. My permit was issued in 3 days. My wife just received the following letter from the chief of Police William R. Hart...

"Sheila (not even Mrs. X),
In reference to your recent application to carry a concealed weapon, I would like to set up a meeting with you before issuing the permit.

Feel free to contact me to set up an appointment at your convenience."

Sincerely,

William R. Hart
Chief of Police

I phoned the Chief and questioned why my wife was singled out. I hinted that I knew the law and was concerned about her rights. He said, "That's my name on the permit and I need to see that she is a reasonable person."

I was concerned about two things...Profiling and attempting to get my wife to say something wrong in an interview of "loaded" questions. He also stated that he was aware that I was familiar with the law and that he was in compliance with the law and his duties. When I mentioned that I may contact the State Attorney General about the matter, he seemed un-affected.

I just got the same letter in the mail about my pistol permit. I find it to be interesting to say the least that this is even possible. It is not up to 1 man whether or not I get my permit to carry. Especially given the fact that I qualify. I will report what happens next.

Finally, someone is standing up to the ridiculous NRA. Londonderry should be thankful. Your chief actually cares about people getting shot up. The insecure, scared gunners in America should find other ways to confirm the manhood.

Wow, I happened to stumble upon this website my accident. All I can say its WOW. Especially you, BRIAN, maybe if you could spell (hence use your words and communicate properly) you would not need a gun. You are all fucking idiots. Having to schedule an appointment with the chief of police is a tiny price to pay in order to carry a gun. You should be thanking the police department rather than ridiculing them because I bet, more often than not, they have performed actions that saved your pathetic lives.

Feel free to contact me. I won't be needing my license to carry

Last time i checked spelling was not a sure indication of intelligence, just ask Einstein, he couldn't spell either.

As far as guns go, everyone should be allowed to open and conceal carry without anyone's permission anything else is just plan nazi antifreedom and anticonstitution.

Welcome to American that land of the free, oh you need a permit for that.
