Provide evidence of any cases of Hispanics voting illegally in Nebraska... This law is not about the non existent problem of voter fraud. it's about making it more difficult for poor, minorities, students and the elderly to vote. They are the ones most likely not to have state ID and, coincidentally they tend to vote Democratic. It amount to a poll tax in most cases, as people will be forced to pay for birth certificates and other docs. The crooks and thieves in the TeaOP are just trying to kneecap the competition. Won't work. People have had a good taste of Tea Bag governance in the do nothing Congress. They are heading down the same path as the dodo. How fitting.

Asking someone to prove they are registered to vote is not an inconvenience nor a means to prevent them from doing so. Why are we expected to be able to have ID for any other number of situations?

Why are we expected to be able to have ID for any other number of situations? A simple voter registration card is sufficient. None of the other situations are enshrined in the constitution. These laws are specifically designed to target certain groups. For example, in Texas your permit to carry a concealed weapon is sufficient but not a student ID. The intent is clear. In every state where these laws have been passed by GOP controlled legislatures it has been shown that minorities, the young, the elderly and the poor will be unfairly disadvantaged. Millions of citizens who have a legal right to vote will be disenfranchised because of these barriers.
