J.C. Penney targeted over dog fur from China

There are no "wild dogs" in China. There are stray dogs, or feral dogs, but no species of wild dog in China. When JC Penny says their fur comes from wild dogs that's an outright lie. The fur comes from some pitiful stray or farm raised dog. It could be a mutt or a collie. Dogs are eaten in China, but even in China it's generally considered pretty barbaric to eat dogs. Also don't think that eating dog in China is something the poor and foodless do to survive. Dog, when eaten, is a delicacy, not an everyday, everyman's food.

So we can eat 'em but not wear 'em...? I'm confused.

I will never buy anything at JC Penny's again!!!!

it's called a racoon dog, and is not a kind of dog that people keep as pets. its in the canine family but is more like a racoon. It's still disgusting, but then again I wouldn't wear a jacket made of any kind of racoon.

I am disgusted by those, who would want to wear any kind of animal carcus around and call it "fashion," whether it be some type of dog, mink, or fox. These people think they look uptown and classy, but I think they look barbaric and primitive...haven't we progressed enough as a society to not have to wear animal fur to keep us warm? It is just unnecessary cruelty now. Shame on JC Penney and shame on anyone or any clothing store that would promote the unneeded slaugtering of animals to make an ugly piece of clothing.

I just found out about all of this, three weeks ago I purchased a coat from J.C. Penny the brand name is A.N.A the coat was priced close to 200.00 dollars marked down to 60.00 dollars it has fur around the hood I am an animal lover I would never buy anything made of real animal fur I am taking the coat back to Penney's and shame on them if it is the real deal I will never shop there again.

People should not wear fur in my opinion I mean a long time ago when we had no way to keep warm yeah ok but now we have all kinds of diffrent fabrics and fake furs. I mean we dont eat them here its illegal and even if we did its still wrong how would you feel if someone skinned you and wore your skin?

I wonder if that's the 'Mystery Meat' In american Chinese resturants?
I also wonder why there's no Korean resturants in USA???

The Chinese actually raise St Bernard and other big dogs to eat.
They skin them alive so they can be "fresh" when they eat them.
The Chinese are depicable people.

The greed and unprincipled behavior of retailers like JC Penney are the root cause of horrible pain and suffering inflicted on dogs, cats, and other animals. Boycott JC Penney. Avoiding fur, faux or otherwise, would also help.

Avoiding anything Chinese will do it for me- that includes what Penny's, Macy's, Nordstrom, etc. sell.They apparently think the general public is stupid, or that vain to want their unscrupulous products.
The way the Chinese kill the animals is totally unhuman. No feelings at all. I think the Chinese themselves are just animals- closely related to the Hyenas. I hope SARS gets them all( the Chinese people) and knocks them off the face of the earth.

I just looked at the tag of my Jcpenny coat and the label is blacked out in one area with a marker. I am mad as hell that I could be fooled by this.

I used to buy alot @ JC Penny & Dillards. I will never buy anything again there or any other place that condones this. We have synthetic fur available...there is no reason to use real fur. Our ancestors did because they had no choice. We supposedly have advanced from them. Why is it that the oriental people are so barbaric?? They are cruel and inhumane. There is no reason to treat the animals the way they do except they are sick!! Anyone who agrees with them, we should ship there butts over & let them live in that society.
