An anti-bullying bill that sets out a precise definition of schoolyard thugs' likely targets won its first round before the full House on Wednesday, despite continuing objections to the list's inclusion in the ...

I think that paddling the crap out of some of these little monsters is a great way to restore discipline in schools, especially if it is done to the juvenile delinquents. Kids get away with FAR too much crap nowadays. A good paddling would straigten many of them out.

The bullying bill wins and the paddling bill loses?

Hmm, it's strange that a majority of NC lawmakers who were concerned about making schools safe from bullies didn't see that hitting children with boards is unsafe and an act of bullying.

What's happens when the kids get out into real life? Who is going to interrogate a seven year old to determine motive and intent?

This sounds like typical democrat/liberal stupidity.

The violent method of school discipline continues in NC

This is a sad day for NC schoolchildren who have the misfortune of living in the paddling districts. There are many horrendous cases of paddling as legalized physical and sexual abuse, not so different from the case the US Senate heard in 1984 where the three teen girls were brutally paddled by a male AP for some small, and in one case, first time infractions. These days there is the new risk of paddling being videotaped by staff for child S/M pornography.
Way to go NC legislators!

Its a sad day when people try to twist discipline into some sort of sex act. That is really perverse.

When I got spanked, the last thing I was thinking about was sex, trust me. I was usually trying to think of anything that would take away the smarting of my butt.

You have to be somewhat or really warped to not be able to tell the difference between discipline spanking and sexual spanking. Some people need to understand there is a heck of a difference.
