Montana is seasonal. In the summer you survive in the winter you starve. Most of Montana has a 6 month life span then it gets too bloody cold for anything to move, work or even come out of the house.Oh but I like ice fishing and snow cattin and winter stuff.that is why I live in Montana.Montana just ain't for everyone.Like me livin in Tenn.or Texas....all different worlds, people, climate, etcetc.J ust stay away from Libby Mt as Libby is not safe to anything that breathes.thank you

I have been living in helena for 8 months. and some of the comments are true..The job situation sucks, wages low, imbreds abound, most montanas are stupid, especially the police. If you want to have fun and a job, don't move here. Most outsiders are shunned, which I wouldn't want their stupid imbred ass around me anyway. I don't understand why i haven't conquered this state yet!

It's like this zip. From the naked eye,Montana IS God's country but it is what runs the inside of Montana that sucks and is corrupt. Can't help the weather. For example, when you come into Libby Mt and all around you is God's country with a river running throu it,you would never in your wildest dreams think...this town kills people from the air being poisoned and breathed called Tremolite asbestos fibers. And can you believe Libby/EPA, continues to be sold, as a safe place to live and raise your family???Sure, and watch them suffer and die a slow and painful death.Stay away from Libby Mt.Thank you. It's NOT what you see,IT's what you breathe,in Libby Mt.It kills you.

Montana would never be again my choice to move to. Jobs are under paid. I live in Broadwater County. In the Winter is inside most of the time, because of the weather. From July until end of September, I am a prisoner in my own home. Because of the Mosquito infestation. You cannot leave your home without being covered within seconds with Mosquitos. All our animal suffer so much. Horses and Dogs. One has so little time to enjoy Montana on the outside. I wish I never moved here. Thinking about selling my 20 acres on the lake.

well it's more than the libby situation although I would definitely not move to such a questionable area. I just think the cost of Montana and the uncertainty of jobs would be a problem.. Sounds like a nice vacation spot but that's it. Thanks for your help! I looked up the Libby asbestos problem on the net and it still is not very reassuring of a place to be at. It seems weird that a place as beautiful would be such a danger to live at.. Greedy people are stupid they ruined that part of Montana and they are probably dead and buried what good did it do them??? What idiots.. The moral of the story don't get greedy..

Yes living in this state has great sacrifice, but wake up in the morning to see out your window the most beautiful green., copper, or rusty reds. or to see the twinkle of white flurries. We do enjoy all 4 seasons. If you live here you must enjoy the beauty of nature. Although it is a very cutthroat place to live. The locals don’t often welcome visitors, we watch to many leave. Why bother getting to know people if they leave in 3 months because their to greedy to take a lesser paying job to live in this beautiful area. I grew up here, I did manage to escape from this tiny little town. In the end we always return home, eventually. I have lived in many cities and towns all over the United States. I realized that no one is ever grateful for what they have.. No matter where you live its got problems; Drive by shootings, Arsons, Drug Dealers, Sexual predators, lots of innocent people falling victim to one crime or another. Yes Meth is bad in our state. Everyone is looking to make a buck so the police aren’t always “available” and even when they do catch the person holding the package of meth making products at the local post office. He got 6 months in a treatment center.. Where last time he was “treated” he learned to make meth in the first place. This area hit its peak last year. Its been a slow but steady decline. Nothing happened overnight. And yes Libby, Troy, Yaak, Bull River Junction and some other surround area’s where the males worked at the local underground mines. When tremolite asbestos was discovered in the mine, it was used as an insulation. With winters getting very chilly often in the single digits below zero and summers reaching over 100 degrees. The men brought home the “free insulation” and used it to insulate their homes and even as a filler in some gardens. It wasn’t known then that it was dangerous or deadly. Now that people here have opened their doors to let men/women come into their homes and test the air, attics, foundations, anywhere they deem necessary to test. We have now completed testing as of Aug 07. And as of current there is still clean up being done. The started with the places that were used more by the public. The insulation in high schools, under gym floors, they have found it to be not near as bad as what was first guessed. The clean up for Lincoln County is to be complete by summers end. Here is an informative website. http://www.scn.org/~bh162/asbestos2.html ATSDR created a registry to follow the health of people who were exposed to asbestos in Libby. http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/tar/ Isn’t this just as scary “Research: to conduct studies of the health of registrants. The goal of these health studies is to increase our understanding of the way tremolite asbestos may cause disease. Increased understanding of the health effects associated with exposure to tremolite asbestos is important not only to people exposed to tremolite asbestos in Libby, but also to people who may have been exposed at one of the more than 200 sites nationwide where Libby vermiculite was processed.“

Yaak Montana, Thanks for your reply.. I wished my wife and I could be in Montana we are both photographers and would love to have that scenery around us. But the reality is we could not make the move with survival being as difficult as it is. What a shame.. People who have paradise around them yet ruin it with their bad conduct. What a waste.. Well maybe some day our dream will come true..
Again thanks for writing it's always good to hear about our favorite place Montana..

The moral of any story of Libby is to stay away from Libby due to continued exposure to Tremolite asbestos, that is everywhere. To stop this deadly exposure you must keep people away from it.You only touch a hot iron once, you don't go back and do it again.Unless you are lied to and stupid enough to believe that lier.Go ahead and touch that hot iron but do it yourself and leave the kids home.Money is the root of greed and many would sell their mother for a buck.Really!!!

The Yaak area is a awsome place.Down to earth folks who love their world and just want to be left alone.Great place for peace of mind.A whole different world then what exists on the out side.Glacier,Virginia City,Bozeman,Missoula,etc...lo ts of awsome places do exist. But even tho Libby is a sight of beauty,Libby also has a dark side that kills you and all who breathe Libby's deadly Tremolite contaminated air.Libby is not a safe place for anything that breathes. This is true!!!
