I'm amazed that the conservative side managed to work with the liberal side. The former never seems to do much else than whine and the latter are usually too busy trying to fix the formers' mistakes.

Naw usually both sides are too busy trying to make the other side look bad. I heard way too much "Pawlenty did this" or the "DFL did that" to consider this a successful bipartisanship session.

The morning TV news presented it like a great accomplishment - Our property taxes won't rise. Hell, they were scheduled to decline as a mirror of dropping property values before these lawmakers stepped in. Now we should feel good about property taxes staying where they are? What a scam.

Why are they out patting themselves on the back for doing their job? The excitement and self congratulating from both sides yesterday was ridiculous.

We elect these people on both sides to work together and come to agreement. More often than not, we get grandstanding and middle school bickering. In that case, the only ones that suffer are the citizens of this state.

Typical Liberal remark! In reality, the Democrats must have finally decided to do their job and worked to TRY to get things done instead of just trying to make the Republicans look like the bad guys. Maybe they finally gave up trying to make Pawlenty break his tax pledge and looked at some other way to actually get something done.

What a great job!!!!!!

The DFLers caved in for one reason Light Rail!!!!
The property appraisers of Ramsey County will
never never never give you a reduction even in light of a disaster market. Coleman and his all girl revue will cheer that they made that mean Mr. Tim capitulate. Excuse me while I vomit on my 09 tax statement.

It was good to see big education get more money. It will give them more incentive to make the graduation rates even worse. The worse the graduation rates the more money, we the taxpayers give them.

I don't understand why the Legislature continues to interfere with property taxes. When Governor Ventura decided to start this in 2001 it marked the beginning of our budget deficits. Instead, why don't the legislators decide to trim back the welfare programs (did you know you can get child care assistance if you're a family of four with a $50,000 income?) to help the people who really need it, then you'll reduce what counties need to do. Then, and only then, will property taxes have a chance of being reduced.

I won't give these folks the high-five for what they were doing at the state capitol. Light rail transit, per diem salaries, doggy cafe shops, and more funding to schools shouldn't be a top priority for this state; fixing bridges and roads should be the main concern instead.
The state Dems need to go. Pronto! They're doing more harm than good for the middle class here in Minnesota.

Dude, it's only BECAUSE of the DFLers that we'll be able to work on the roads and bridges after this session. Pay attention.

They say that those who don't know History are doomed to repeat it. Oddly, everybody knows that the MN legislature will always, always, always go into frantic overdrive the final day of the session - even if it is a Sunday. Where is the learning curve here?

Let's try to maintain a positive outlook: at least there was no need for calling a Special Session this time. Maybe they ARE learning!

Conservatives don't need the liberals to help them look bad, they do a fine job just by themselves.

Most illogical, Mr. Spock. The top priority WAS fixing bridges and roads, which was fully addressed by the $6.6 billion gas tax amendment earlier in the session. The highest priority was addressed long before the lower-priority items that you list were decided. Should not the highest priority items be addressed first? That is only logical.

You are allowing your Most Illogical Feelings to dictate your public responses, Mr. Spock. Please control those Feelings, and do not discredit Vulcan publicly again.
