How would that be, according to yourself?
.
From where I see things, your own question above represents a large degree of said 'paranoia,' inasmuch that it could well be said that you're afraid of firearms.
.
Being afraid of firearms is something of the illogical.
.
You can't be afraid of people whom carry firearms, because if they weren't carrying firearms then you wouldn't be afraid of them, right?
.
So then, and by logical deduction, you're afraid of an inanimate object, and that is both illogical and a psychological aberration.

It's only paranoia if you're wrong, mate. When it's my life on the line though? Damn, right I'm packing firepower. York County is the mutt's nuts!

I moved up here from MD several years ago. I was shocked at how simple it was to get a CCW permit. In Maryland if you don't know the Gov, you're not getting one. With that said, many people I know have fled MD for PA, gotten here and got their CCW. Sadly we can not carry when we travel to work in MD.

Well, you know? There are a few ways to change that matter, one of which is to NOT do ~any~ business in that state.
.
DO BE SURE to write the occasional letter to the editor of your favorite news rag, and tell them that you refuse to spend your hard-earn cash in a state which refuses to recognize your rights.
.
Write too, to the various legislators and just for fun, write to the several large big box stores and tell them why you and many others aren't spending money in their businesses.
.
Additionally, make note of any LARGE purchases you've made in other states, and tell them that you'd have spent that money in Md., but didn't because they refuse to recognize your rights.
.
Tell them that you pack a lunch instead of resorting the local restaurants because you can't see spending money in a state which refuses to recognize your rights.
.
Write letters to the various local restaurants where you work, and tell them that it sure would be nice if you and your co-workers could once again spend your money there, but that you refuse to spend your hard-earned money in a state which refuses to recognize your rights.
.
is that a lot of letter writing? Sure. But you know what? The more you write, the more notice it gets, and the more friends you get to play along, the more impact you'll have.
.
THINK ABOUT IT!

Now that I am finished laughing I will respond. I don't think you have ever been to Maryland. As far as politics go it is kind of like a pint sized California. The Libs are so entrenched they are next to impossible to get out of a single office, much less out of power. Md is unique in the fact that many people who live their either work for or make their living from the Fed Gov. I work there because of Population Density. I need a large population to keep me in business. The elected officials wouldn't listen when I lived there I doubt they would listen now that I am not a resident. What IS going to happen is all the folk who think like you and I will move out to PA. Perhaps we can keep the same thing from happening here.

Well, you know? If you're not willing to take the first step, then how do know it won't work?
.
I could well say what you've said about Washington (the state), in that there are more communofascists per square foot in Seattle than there are in all of Md.
.
But you know what? Lots of those communofascists keep firearms, and THEY KNOW what side their butter is breaded on when it comes to the Right to Keep and Bear Arms!
.
Don't give up. Sure, the battle will be long and arduous, but IT CAN be won.
.
You have to start somewhere ...

"Wouldn't have anything to do with paranoia, would it?"

Was it paranoia when they started regulating machineguns/suppressors via the NFA in 1936?

Was it paranoia when they started regulating the lot of firearms in GCA of 1968?

Was it paranoia when they BANNED guns from schools in PA in 1980?

Was it paranoia when they BANNED machineguns via FOPA post 1986?

Was it paranoia when they BANNED assault weapons in 1994 AWB?

Was it paranoia when they BANNED guns in PA from courthouses in 1995?

Although I don't know so much about the history if unconstitutional legislation in Maryland, I have heard it is rough, and I would expect anyone who cares about suppressing tyranny and taking responsibility for their own security to move to a state that respects firearms slightly more. Unfortunately no state in the nation respects its state and federal constitutional rules on the right to keep and bear arms, but some states provide better /privileges/ than some, and Pennsylvania would be a better choice over Maryland. Unfortunately for PA, however, you really do need a license or permit of some sort to get around with a firearm even if it is unconcealed, due to restrictions on travel in vehicle while carrying and a few of our 'sensitive areas' here in PA.

You should note for future conversations, that neither Vermont nor Alaska require any kind of license to carry firearms, open or concealed.

Forget the constitution for once o.k.Why shouldnt
all people have the right to protect themselves.
Guns are our modern day method of doing this,so
why is it a problem?Could someone find out,how many
of the shootings in York in the last month, were done with registered weapons. You see the problem doesnt
come from registered weapons,I believe, according to
the stats, the problem comes from unregistered weapons. The problem comes from criminals with guns.
The problem comes from within our own government,
because our government sells them to mexico or
some other 3rd world country, and they are brought
back to the US and sold on the street.

It is my considered opinion that you're complicating matters.
.
Look, there are three problems which sorely need to be addressed:
.
[1] The anti-gun laws which do not a thing to stop violent crime, and turn the People into victims-in-waiting.
.
[2] The drug laws which NEED to be repealed. Really, they do. The drug laws are THE cause of the most violent crime. Before the laws, there wasn't any associated violent crime.
.
[3] Empty the prisons of the non-violent criminals (the drug users and other victimless crimes) and KEEP THE REAL CRIMINALS IN JAIL.
.
Three simple steps: Get rid of the gun laws, the drug laws, and keep the violent ones in jail.

A good reason for why we are losing our country, no one will stand up for it!!! These polititions are scum, they only care about themselves. if they don't like something you will lose the freedom of something. No offense but Maryland sucks when it comes to government I'm suprised the people haven't taken over yet. We are getting close to take this state over Rendell sucks too.
