I have a better idea instead of building more prisons just kill the lifers with no chance of parole thus freeing up much bedded space.

aww, those mean ol' guards messing with (wit) his rec and other fun times? oh, boo f*cking hoo!! here's a clue: prison is supposed to be a nasty experience but apparently it still isn't bad enough. otherwise don'tcha think these dirtbags would try to avoid it a little more than they do? but noooo, every time they cycle through again, they expect their education, gym time, tv, food, medical, "companionship", etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum! things should be a lot harder in the joint to make it less appealing than it apparently is because if it's so bad, why do they keep going back? chaingangs are a real nice idea. guards don't get the credit they deserve. sig hiel, jail guards! ;-)

Sounds to me you have served time, and just like every other inmate you think your the victim. Lets have a 3-strike policy in this flaming liberal state, but instead of life sentences we put them to death, this will also help our budget because you wont have all the scum on welfare. Mothers teaching their daughters to have babies at age 10 to collect more welfare. You got it "right" magnum(which I'm sure has nothing to do with the condom) Correctional officers have nothing better to do than screw with inmates heads (to explain that was sarcastic). People make mistakes and those are usually forgiven as they should be, but a mistake is not something that continues over and over, you are the type of person that is probably in politics, inmates have more rights than a law abiding citizen.

I disagree somewhat. Have you ever talked to anyone with a record? No one will hire them. They can't even get into a lot of schools. I know a 20 year old that committed a crime at 18. He served 3 months in a house of correction. Since he has gotten out, he applies to at least 100 jobs a week, no one wants to hire a felon. He applied to a technical school and was told they won't allow felons. Temporary agency's won't even put his name on their list.McDonalds even does background checks, so how are they supposed to get a job. Luckily this young man has a family that knows he has changed, they see him struggling each and every day trying to get a job. He tried to join the army, he was told to re-apply after he was off probation. When he was off probation, they told him no, the officer told him he had to turn away multiple people that month alone because of records. This is not a hardened criminal, he committed a crime right after his 18th birthday, served his time and has been on the straight and narrow ever since, but so far, not one person will give him a chance. It's not like he looks weird or anything either, if you saw him you would just assume he was a college student. There are no second chances, that is why so many end up back in prison. I know most people don't care, but if first time offenders are given some kind of break, a lot of them would re-offend and wouldn't end up back in prison wasting our tax dollars.

Hey wake up he's a piece of shat criminal period the end!

He got free medical, free heat, free food and everything else free when he was in the clinck.

Whens the last time anyone ever thanked a prison guard for keeping these human waste products in line. They are in PRISON because they did something wrong more than one time. Check out the court records in Fitchburg they need to commit a crime 50 or 60 times before the judge gives them House of Corrections time. Toget to STATE PRISON you are a CRIMINAL who should be treated like a dog.

This country is going to shat because of soft shoes who want to hold hands with these criminals, bring back the DEATH Sentence NOW!

ok, joe, i'll give you that---to a very small degree. sure, everyone deserves a second chance, IF it's a low level, NON VIOLENT crime. but let's be real here; how often does it happen that under those criteria, anyone does actual jail time? unless of course it was me, maybe you or the thousands of other people who never commited a crime, we'd get a couple of years! or so it seems. the badder you are, the more chances and fewer consequences you receive. at least here in "mess"achusettes. with the clown judges who buy their appointments. makes me literally gag when i read time and again that some scum-sucker who's out on bail or probation, yet again gets a low bail to be able to continue to endanger my safety, infringe on my rights, corrupt my children, all the while living pretty well off of our tax dollars in or out of prison. and yes, i know a former inmate, but he's gotten about 150 chances so far and should be in for life, but it'll never happen. a great man used to say "our liberalism will be our downfall" and man, was he right! joe, i'd like to thank you for your courteous, intellegent discourse. doesn't happen on here too often.

I really understand what you are saying and believe me until I saw with my own eyes what this kid who is really trying to turn his life around is going through, I was a hard ass, your a criminal you don't get another chance. If I know 1 kid like this, there must be others. I am not talking a career criminal or someone who commits a violent crime, maybe because this man readily admitted to his crime and his parents took the court appointed lawyer, I believe this young man if given a chance would make society proud. In this mans case, he has a family who supports him, he gets no assistance,he's never applied, but in a lot of cases, young men like this would have no option but to be out on the streets with no means of income.
The law is a lot different then when I was a kid, in many ways I can understand why. When we were kids, most times if you got in trouble, the cops brought you to the station and called your parents, when you got home, your parents handled you. Now it seems like the kids automatically get arrested and if they over 17 they now have a record. My company does background checks and will not hire someone who has any kind of record. They do this for every job from warehouse help to company presidents. So a kid makes 1 mistake and now they will never get a decent job, or even a job at a fast food restaurant.

Five years ago, I really had no compassion for anybody who broke the law, this young man has changed my outlook in some ways.

Be careful about what you eat and drink today, my prancing Archer. Your body is in a sensitive state, so be well advised and steer clear of anything that might upset you, or to which you're sometimes allergic. Avoid anyone who's a one-man germ factory, in case a few bugs happen to jump out and over to you. Right now, you could do without it.
