Mass Lesbian Fired From Position As Dean Of Catholic High School By Springfield Diocese

Full story: lezgetreal.com

Massachusetts may approve of same-sex marriage, but the Roman Catholic Church does not, and it emphatically does not. This is why Christine M. Judd is no longer the athletic director and dean of students at Cathedral High School. Judd married her wife back in August, and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield did not approve. Thus, they did their best to force her to leave. Judd stated of her departure “I was given a choice of termination or resignation. I’m hurt, but I wish the best for Cathedral, its students, the parents, the athletic teams, administration and faculty. I bleed purple.” Purple is the school’s color.

HMMMMM, homosexuality can get you fired, deny you housing, and refuse to serve you in a public place. Even in Massachusetts. But everybody SAYS we already have equal rights. R..i..g..h..t

A PRIVATE org has the right to fire who it wants ESP one based on religion.

She needed only to keep her mouth shut but you people insist on "coming out" and thus you will than be called out on it.

Keep it in the bedroom in your house and keep it to yourself.

Once again the Catholic Church has proven that they do not respect the words of their savior Jesus Christ. All that preaching about love and acceptance is simply hypocricy.

It's no wonder that the younger generation has turned their back to a religion that has turned its back on them. The Catholic religion does not practice what it once claimed to be. It's no surprise that more and more people in this country look at the entire organization with utter disdain and disgust.

Jesus Christ would be ashamed and embarrassed at what has become of this hypocritical mess called Catholicism.

You still have them. Others simply want the same rights as you in the name of equality.

Why should she keep her mouth shut about who she loves? Do you keep your mouth shut about who you love? It's nobody's business if you're heterosexual or homosexual, it's completely irrelevant in all facets of life.

Heterosexuals do not keep it in the bedroom nor keep it to themselves. So, I guess some gay/lesbian people should start firing them for their sexuality. If you insist on forcing your morality and heterosexuality on homosexual persons, you will than be called out on it.

She should simply sue the pants off of the school for discrimination. Her sexuality has nothing to do with her teaching skills.

A lesbian school employee is fired for what she lives in her personal life yet Catholic priests are simply transferred and moved around to sweep their rape of children under the Catholic carpet. Some 'religion' the Catholics have there.....no wonder it's nose diving into oblivion.

You have the same rights as always (ie. not special rights). And homosexual individuals, and non-white individuals the same exact rights. What you think is that being a white breeder makes you special, but sorry, no, you're not special, nor do you have the right to infringe on the rights of others.

You might say you don't care, but if you truly didn't, you wouldn't have responded. You do care, but guess what? You aren't the boss of anyone, and no-one genuinely cares who you have sex with. Try living your life based on actually accomplishing something instead of skin pigment or where you stick your pen*s.

Why should people lie and closet themselves and their entire lives just to be able to work jobs that anyone else can, without such pressures?

Why do anti-gays always base gay/lesbian persons lives on who they have sex with alone?

Why do anti-gays think same-sex attraction and love is solely based on carnal relations?

Why are religious anti-gays inconsistent with what they find unacceptable under God?

Why should anyone respect an organization who discriminates against legal citizens for who they are?

These schools seemingly more and more are targeting same-sex oriented individuals to discriminate, intimidate, condemn and fire. What we are seeing is the backlash many people predicted. It's very clear that is what is happening. Homosexuality is more open, more accepted, we have more of a voice, more power, and these people DO NOT LIKE IT. These are Sally Kern clones, they ignore the Bible, outside of the supposedly (and truthfully just twisted lies) anti-gay messages. They view homosexuality as the biggest threat to their religious beliefs, to their power of the world, power of society, their own sexualities and identities. These people are fearful of homosexual persons, and they are taking out their fear-based hatred on us. Not only are we not supposed to be "publicly gay", but if it's INVESTIGATED that you are privately with a same-sex partner or are gay, you will be on their radar. These people HATE US, and look at us as a war they need to win to save themselves, their God and the world.

We have to stand up and say NO to their bigotry. Do not associate with such individuals, nor people who are implicit in their acceptance of it. NO MORE discrimination. NO MORE sitting quietly. These people want us to respect their belief to have disrespectful views of us, and then hide behind religion to justify said beliefs. Continue to expose their hate, and continue to allow them to expose themselves. This is a battle we will not lose, and time is clearly on our side. Fight for what's right. Educate the ignorant. Beat them with facts, reality, and do not stoop to their level.

You must not understand what coming out means. It partly means feeling comfortable being yourself around others. Straights can freely talk about and kiss their loved ones in public (and they do all the time) and not have to lie when someone asks them about their loved ones like many gay people cannot do. If you really feel that way then you wouldn't mind if others felt you should keep you opinions to yourself and keep Palin (a phony pr whore that nobody with a brain really cares about) out of your name, because they might believe you're flaunting it

Anyone who actually thinks Sarah Palin is nothing short of an idiotic airheaded liar is someone whose opinion really hold no weight in any adult conversation.

“I married my partner this summer. I was hoping that my loyalty, my professionalism the last twelve years would supersede the current hypocrisy that has already been shown with the Diocese of Springfield.”

Honey, I'm sorry to hear you were let go, but the statement above seems to indicate a drug problem. You'd probably get fairer treatment from the Ayatollah Khamenei.

I don't see why she wouldn't have a lawsuit based on marital status. Even if a sexual orientation based lawsuit would not fly.

All she has to do is show it was her getting legally married in MA initiated the firing.(She couldn't have been out before or they would have fired her before, presumably.)

I don't see what the hubub is about. The Catholic Church is adamantly opposed to homosexuality.

The school is by definition, a private institution. Private institutions have certain discriminatory privelege - its tough, but its their right to fire this woman based on her sexual orientation.

If she sues or if the state goes and sanctions the school in some way, then you'll see that seperation of church and state, which we all insist must be respected, violated.

But it is interesting what she pointed out in the article. That teachers who are on birth control are not "disciplined," or teachers who have divorced, etc. But she got fired for getting married. The school knew she is a lesbian, but once she entered a civil marriage with her partner, that's when she was let go. Quite different huh once you actually read the article instead of assuming things.

Don't worry, darling, you still have them all. Women still make less for doing the same job. The glass ceiling is holding up pretty well. You're okay. No need for the XANEX.
